Our whole defensive line sucks.... coaching staff to blame for that

When they make the same mistakes positionally every single week and nothing is ever done off the field to fix it (besides a new defensive structure that's even worse) that means the coaches had no clue

Fingers crossed Cayless can do something. Our blokes get confused when someone runs a simple bloke at them. Literally just follow the roosters system of defence

Let's face the facts. The opposition goes up the middle - they bust us open, they go out wide - they create overlaps and leave us stranded, they kick to our line - they are likely to force a drop our or score... Can't just blame Luke Brooks.

Can't believe that Hartigan was heralded as the Messiah when he came here from the Chooks, now he's just regarded as chicken shit.

Personally, I don't know what to believe but his reputation on this forum has certainly taken a nose dive since he has left the building.

I've met Adam a few times, seemed a good knowledgeable guy. Whatever Hartigan's reputation is right now, it's almost certainly not accurate to the actual ability (or lack of) of the man himself. I have literally zero knowledge of what Adam Hartigan was doing behind the scenes, but he's no dummy that's for sure.

I think it's also a mistake to equate Hartigan's employment, and then not, as being some magic trigger for signings. Whilst I think the Summer time signings have been good, I wasn't in doubt that we'd see action over this period same as we have seen for several seasons now. Nobody knows for sure if Hartigan had something or anything to do with those signings, nor do we even know if some new person like Sheens got the chequebook out to make some recruitment happen.

And most crucially - we are yet to see if these decisions pan out. I've been hopeful for historical signings that turn out to be absolute custard. Hartigan was, after all, the guy overseeing the signatures of Doueihi, Stefano, Luciano, Laurie, Blore - our best up young players and likely the core of our future side.

I think it's far more complicated than people like to boil down into simply binaries of good/bad.


He was pretty trash, tbf. No evidence, besides him failing miserably at sealing the deal often.

Latrell was never coming, the others wanted too much coin and I was happy not to sign them in overs. Our salary cap is in good order now because of it!

The problem is when I've seen him he hasn't been that good in State Cup. If he kills it in State Cup then I think he is a good chance of killing it in first grade.

He might come good. I wouldn't write him off yet but to me he should kill it in State Cup prior to being considered a valid first grade option.

Get rid of Brooks. Hasting and Douhei are the future. If Douhei is out, replace him with a good defender.

Doueihi might not even have a future if he does his knee one more time.

Brooks is lucky to be even being mentioned. I swear to God the Freemasons must be pulling strings for him the way he has made a career out of doing sweet FA.

Our defence overall is ordinary. Do not defend as a team, a lot of lazy players and arm grabbers.

Brooks has often been stuck defending next to Garner or Luci.

The lack of effort by some is a key reason teams are able to isolate players like AD, Brooks & Liddle so often

It's not cut and dry is it. Madge has dropped him as well. I think the issue has been a lack of options to replace him. I also think he is a decent first grade player in that he makes a lot of first grade teams.

Agree to an extent … waddling through the pissing contests of who’s better and who’s not is pretty tiresome. We support the same team at the end of the day yet there always seems to be a divide 😂
