Tamou has nothing to offer.
Be real.

Nofo trumps him every day... and Nofo is average as it gets.

If recent photos are any indication of who's going to play this year, it would appear WT are going to persevere with this guy.
He's a good example on how one should act off the field but it hard to captain from there hee hee.
He doesn't seem to have recaptured that form that made him a rep player.
If he stops guys like Thomas, Kelma, Alex etc from getting hwaos if game time, I'll spew.
We're supposed to be rebuilding for 2023 so I don't know how we're going to do that if we let a player past his prime sit on the bench.

Noffa has got 1 wing spot sewn up and is on the field for the full 80 each week. Has been at the club for his whole career, so ticks a few boxes to be captain. Might not be a bad option actually. A 10 minute a game prop or an introverted halfback are probably not the answer either, so why not give him a crack?!

He has zero leadership qualities and is realistically a fringe starter. Tamou can be club captain and then add Doueihi and Hastings to the leadership group, and that'll do.

He's not fringe though; he will start all/most games. You may be right about the leadership stuff though, but he may grow into it if given a chance. Doueihi is certainly the captain in waiting, but as he is not playing for half the season, we need someone to start in the role now.

Twal said in the podcast Nofo is great for the energy, always gets the guys fired up, always talking.... we only see what we see on TV.

He'd be a better option than Brooks... and Tamou.

You're not related to him are you Demps?
Seriously - He would have the Lowest Football IQ in our squad I'd reckon...
Even in general he's not the sharpest tool in the shed....
If he's captain - I'd give up.

Why not, tamou no Einstein.

Grand final winner
SOO rep
Has more to offer than Noffo as captain

Not last year.

James reputation at best was an honest hit up and he got on his knees when the tackle was nearly completed, that way he was really quick to his feet for a big man, but last year he wasn't able to do that.
We can't afford to carry him as an impact forward, we have enough of them that need to get more games.
We need a prop who can play big minutes to help Alex Twal.
If Hastings lives up to expectations he could possibly be our captain.
It's an observation only. Like most posts in preseason they are speculative.

Hate this political statements growing like a cancer in sport, same as the moslem girl who refused to wear a gay pride shirt and stepped down from an upcomming game in the womens afl. I turn off the sport straight away .Glad the sixers lost if they are still carrying on with this garbage

They might be upset about young ladies not smiling or the likes of The Benny Hill Show no longer being aired.

Got to be something important like that.

Article from https://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/news/nrl-2022-rugby-league-super-league-england-featherstone-rovers-joey-leilua-contract-wests-tigers/

Joey Leilua's shock admission after signing with UK second-division side Featherstone Rovers
Liam O'Loughlin
NRL discard Joey Leilua has admitted he didn't know Featherstone Rovers were a second-division side, after his attempts to join the Super League were shut down.
The 30-year-old was left unsigned by the Tigers at the end of 2021 after a falling out with head coach Michael Maguire, with no other clubs in Australia willing to sign the bulldozing centre.
Leilua was looking for a move overseas into the Super League, but according to the Samoan international, that was ruined by people bad-mouthing him and his reputation.
In an interview with BBC Sport upon arrival in England, Leilua revealed he was described as a 'bad person' by an unnamed source, as well as not knowing Featherstone's standing in UK football.
“At first, I was trying to come over to different clubs and they wanted me," he said.
"They came back to my manager and my manager said to me that someone had been putting in their ear that I’m a bad person, which I already knew who it was and it’s obviously one person. It was difficult to come over.
“I got a phone call from Brian and Martin to come over here and play – I didn’t know they were second division to be honest. The way they spoke to me, I thought they were first division.
"They spoke to me and convinced me to come over and my wife said to come over and start fresh and enjoy it here. It will be good for the kids, it’s somewhere different.
“It was disappointing that my name was getting tossed around and that I was that type of person that was bad for the club. At the same time, I knew the person I was and I wasn’t going to change.
"Featherstone came along and said they don’t care about what has happened, and that’s why I respect him so much. I can’t wait to repay them the favour they showed me."
Leilua has a wealth of NRL experience, and if he is anywhere near his best, he should dominate the Championship and earn a deal with a Super League outfit.
Quizzed on his potential to dominate for the Rovers, Leilua remained coy but did reveal he hopes to replicate the form he showed at Canberra a few years ago.
“I don’t want to say too much, I’ll just have to wait and see," he said.
"For me, I want to give it my best and hopefully get that form I had three years ago at the Raiders. It was disappointing I didn’t have any form at the Tigers, a lot of things went wrong there, but that’s in the past and I want to leave that behind me.
"Right now, I feel great and after doing boxing, it has made me fit and the lungs have opened up."

I actually feel a bit sorry for him. He has the build to be the best centre in the NRL and now he's over there, playing second division.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. The potato has brought it all on himself. Talked up a huge game and delivered nothing.

Did he say it was the biggest issue in his life? It's American trash.

Not an Australian issue?

One in a nation where we jail 10 year old kids and the latest Australian bureau of statistics figures show that 30% of our prison population is indigenous (nearly 9 times the average) and the rate of deaths in custody is worse.

Anyway, let's get back on topic as Mick Fuller's mate only likes (literally as well) posts from the right or even further thereon and I fear this might upset him further.

Our club is involved in indigenous programs for many valid reasons, including ways to help reduce death and harm in the community whilst drawing attention to such issues, so I suggest that it is hypocritical whine about other sporting organisations. I am sure that the decision of re-signing of Roberts considered mentoring and such.

In the spirit of signing rumours, the updated top 30 shows the vacant spot as *Player currently at another club. So an upgrade from within the club doesn't seem to be the go.

Happily supportive of clubs or sports working on indigenous programs.

But BLM knee-dropping is just air-headed tagging along with American pop culture.

If it was genuine conviction about human rights there are far more serious issues that are more relevant to the cricketing world. Which clubs are taking knees over bloody anti-Buddhist and anti-Hindu pogroms in Bangladesh? Religious discrimination in Pakistan? Persecution of Tamils in Sri Lanka? Communal bloodshed in India? Massacres of villagers during crackdowns on Naxalites?

Who's taking a knee for hundreds of thousands of dead, crippled and starving in Yemen?

But a Yank gets killed by a cop and the whole world has to be on their knees for the next decade.

Nah, the "**Player currently at another club" is just referring to the two asterisks next to Papali'i and Koroisau's names.

I hope not, he can’t even string 2 sentences together.

**Wayne Pearce** is a man that will always be respected by this club. As a player and captain, Wayne was a shining example of Loyalty and dedication, a solid hard worker for his beloved club, and a captain with pure sincerity and eloquence.

Who can be or will be our next Wayne Pearce?
