That teams got 9th written all over it.

I would settle for 9th this season 2022.

It would be a massive over achievement. It would probably save Madge’s job. Though, I still don’t know how a coach survives 4 seasons at a club with no finals. I guess it shows how low the bar is at our club.

You seem to have a serious mental problem. The only cure that I can see is for you to follow some other team. It would help you and it would certainly help the real WT's fans.

Same club that allows Brooks and Nofo to continue to stink it up with no consequence.

If we lost Madge , we'd have to bring in Flanno and that would upset yas..
Or some one less cut out for the job.

I disagree. We have the structures in place to support a younger coach. The loss of Maguire would not be detrimental to the club's forward progress.

Maybe we'll find out one day.
Until then....

I was a massive advocate for buggering off madge but now that Sheens is back, I'm happy to keep him. Still think if he has a terrible first half of the year he'll be gone.
Few guys on here in the know @Demps seem to rate Gardiner? I think it is.
More than happy for him to take over. Seems to be involved with all the promising juniors

This is pretty funny because it's pre-season. I was going to add that when we signed BJ and JTJ we looked a lot better as well. They just didn't perform.

We should be a little skeptical. Hastings and Gildart have to prove themselves in the NRL.

Why add the punt Brooks comment ? It makes no sense. Brooks can get punted if he doesn't make our top team and we win the comp.

There is no reason why our halves won't be Hastings and Doueihi. If we don't make the 8 do we start stating punt Doueihi.

I think you answered your own question here. 9th is an over achievement now **and if anything we are looking stronger this year than the last couple of years.**

You need the cattle.

Idk about that. Dare I call it wishful thinking. One of our best players is missing for at least 12 weeks and our only recruits are 2 SL stars, one unproven as an NRL player, the other untested, and Tyrone Peachy, who had no contract anywhere else. And before anyone wants to jump down my throat, let me balance this negativity out by saying I believe we are on track for a really good season in ‘23. If we can snare a classy centre, it would be the final piece of the puzzle that makes us serious top 8 contenders.

Still need edge forwards....
Problem with a centre is - If the halves fire, Where's Doueihi come back to?

I know you were advocating for Papalii at lock yesterday, but he could easily end up on an edge.

And do a good job....
Still leaves us with one edge short (Especially if Garner goes - With Luch going)
If you move Ice from lock - Then we're also short there....

hear me out, but looking at what's available on the market, I'm fairly sure that apart from a centre (Farnworth) and a front rower (Hamlin-Uele, Taupau, Franklin Pele) that we have just about everything we need for a decent tilt in 2023.

Papali'i and Koroisau will do us wonders, Stef, Daine, Doueihi, Blore, Tuilagi etc will have another year under their belt and we'll see a lot of deadwood cleared in the mould of Liddle, Tamou, Garner, Leilua & Mikaele. as well as this we should see the emergence of a couple of decent youngsters in Dillon, Tumeth, Pole & O'Kane which always gives us a shot in the arm. again, there's a couple of players that would certainly improve us, but I feel as if we've done exceptionally well for what's available and should trust in our youngsters and gems in the squad.

Last time I checked now that Willow and Cochise are gone we are allowed an opinion around here.

Very interested to see how Tuilagi progresses as a 2nd rower. I’m guess he will be competing with Garner for a bench spot this year.
