For some time Brooks has attempted to play like an organising 7,passing off to others (totally predictably)...and kicking on the 5th (again...totally predictably).He rarely runs
If he plays outside of Hastings with a clear mission to run at holes in the defence,theres a possibility he mite just find his mojo..

As for Hastings probably justified lack of pace criticism ,neither Cronk nor Cam Smith were Olympic class sprinters but did OK regardless of who was outside them.They have vision and organisation skills and deception to create opportunities.The double pump by Hastings to send Seyfarth over untouched said it all for me

Why would we help them out unless we get someone decent in return.
Moving Madden to put Rua in the squad is terrible roster management, Rua is not ready for NRL level.

Beside which we have massive depth issue in the halves especially with Liddle out which rules Peachey out as he will need to cover hooker.
Laurie can play there but we have next to no option for Fullback (Dillon isn't ready).

Agree, Madden had very little football, especially in the top grade, and i mentioned in posts last year that i would have used him more. He is a natural half, is quick, tough ,has a good kicking game and a good football brain. I would persist with him, he just needs game time, i hope the spoilers on here give him a chance.

A D is a nice guy, but i did not see anything special in his stints at 5/8 , centre, or FB that makes him a walk up start in any position. He did show some class in a couple of games, and looked terrible in others. I pose the question, what other side would buy him for 5/8 or any other position?

I liked him as a centre. My biggest knock on him as a 5/8, was his reluctance to pass to his outside men. As a centre, it was less of a drama, I thought. In a perfect world, our team is firing and he plays as our 14 when he returns from injury.

I agree he ran the ball well from 5/8 but didn’t ignite the backline. However he was often our best player last year (in a very average team). We are actively looking for a centre. He has a good goal kicking %. If he comes back and strings a few good games together his $ price will go up. IMO extend his contract now while other clubs aren’t thinking of him.

does Canberra have a second rower or centre we can trade for 2022 ?

I think this lack of passing to the outside is a fallacy. AD had the most assists in a canter last year and missed a few games with injury. If he wasn't passing the ball he doesn't get all of those assists
