We’re the club that gets the left overs, not the pick of the litter. If we’re going to try and sign a winger from Penrith, Charlie Staines is the one we’d end up with.

Most were saying how good he was after one game and 5 tries. What was the name of that winger we had that scored five tries in a game but was generally terrible at rugby league? We’re the club that gets the left overs, not the pick of the litter. One good game doesn’t make a champion and one bad game doesn’t make a dud.
May is a pipe dream. As if he would walk away from that club to come to us. Not going to happen, and everyone in rugby league would be telling him it would be career suicide, which it would be. He’d be going from the penthouse to the outhouse.
This player was pretty good, everything a winger should be - super quick, strong, a great finisher from all parts of the field and prepared to put his body on the line in defence. Why wasn't he signed to a long term contract?Keith Lulia
Yeah, but this is different. Api is getting older and wasn’t getting re-signed. Pap is a class player who was offered significantly less at his current club, so was going to most likely move club anyway. May has just debuted in a side that has the potential to be a dynasty. What incentive does he have to leave that for a club like ours?Like Api and Papalli ?
We can sign players. It's not career suicide at all.
We can turn this around as well.
You could see his frustration - a couple of times in the second half he threw his hands up and mouthed something after another stuff up inside him. Good to watch him suffer. They would be like JAC at the dogs. Wasted.
Top 8 should be sorted this weekend. Great competition.Good oil mate.
If true I'd rather they go to a top club than to our competition for the top 8
Haha yeah. He was spoilt on the end of the Storm backline for years, now it’s reality check time. Would be funny if he lost his Origin jumper. You could see his frustration - a couple of times in the second half he threw his hands up and mouthed something after another stuff up inside him. It will take significant improvement on the field first. Players just won’t flock because of the coach.I think once maguire is gone, and a new coach is appointed, hopefully flanno, we will see better results in the recruitment side of things

Will Flanno bring his needles and his bodgy accountant??????I think once maguire is gone, and a new coach is appointed, hopefully flanno, we will see better results in the recruitment side of things
It’s all about being realistic, not pessimistic. Some very easily confuse the two. Just put yourself in a Panthers supporters shoes. What would you think of the suggestion that your new young gun winger could be poached to the team running dead last? It’s a hard, near impossible sell.Money. Plus it's first grade rugby league. The same as Api and Pap.
My concern with the pessimism is that it's not realistic.
It's the same as the comments previously stating that Brooks would always be picked by Madge. It's pessimistic but that isn't the issue. The issue is it's not realistic. It's almost like people didn't see the writing on the wall either. It was clearly obvious that Brooks this season is under a lot of pressure to retain his spot.

I’m not saying we can’t attract players, but you have to take into account the circumstances. For a player like May to leave a club in the midst of a potential dynasty and come to a club like us is unfathomable.I get what you are stating. I think you are being unrealistic.
If we offer a player 300k and he is being offered 150k by his current team I reckon that player will come.
We also have advantages getting players from Sydney clubs because they are already located here. That is why we got Tamou and I'm sure it played a role in getting Api and Papalli as well. They don't have to relocate their families.
At the 500k dragons are apparently offering? No wayI’d take jack bird for sure play him at second row and leave him there all year
