Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

expensive as a centre though
but good personality
just hope he nails a position otherwise he becomes a Mmbye utility value
good at a number of positions but not worth the $ as a utility

That was the contract prior to the one he is currently on. He got a massive increase

Over the course of his contract it's about 600k-650k from what was reported initially.

It's because it was backloaded due to the dodge contracts of Mbye, Reynolds, Packer, Mats etc that people now arc up at him being $1mil, when it's actually not what he is on year to year for his contract.

AD based on media reports is on 650k this year, considering we signed him from basically reserve grade & he hasn't cemented a position + missed a heap of games - I would say he is on way overs currently as well.

AD was our best player last year. Had double the try involvements that Brooks did in less games played.

He also played plenty of first grade for Souths prior to coming to us. He was first choice fullback for them prior to the signing of Latrell

if AD doesn't cement a spot he ends up in Mmbye utility class and overs
for 650k or more at centre would rather Katoni Staggs

Forget about dillon, he is gone, won’t play many games here again, I’m hearing mr Mac has been ringing around player managers telling them there players should look elsewhere, he’s one, Simpkin and talau are others along with the back rower Simpkins. There is more to come. Don’t shoot the messenger.
thats poor treatment of a couple of the younger players particularly dillon and simpkin. dude seems to have it in for certain players

Seeing he was our best player by a country mile last year he’s ok compared to what we were paying Mbye and Brooks.

I think his point is he’s actually only on marginally more money than Douehi on a per year basis. Say what you like about Brooksy (thousands do) but you can’t dispute that he’s durable and he tries hard. By those metrics he’s been a far more valuable player than AD simply because AD is watching from the sideline.

Doueihi is a guy you want in the team, he cares and competes for everything, he makes others try harder.
He was safe at fullback but did not offer much in attack. He wasn't great at 5/8 but might be a fantastic 5/8 in a year or 2 with more experience playing at centre. At centre he also gives us a kick target on the right side.
He also offers a lot of versatility. If he starts at centre and you have a centre/2nd row type of player on the bench like Garner, the 2 of them cover an injury to 2nd row, centre, 6, 7 and 1

I think we desperately need a young winger to replace Ken. Young Taylon May from Penrith is awesome and he's going to lose his spot when To'o comes back. He's the bloke I'd be talking to. I'd be trying to sweeten the deal by signing his brother Terrell from the Bears (plays prop and doesn't have an NRL contract). He's been the leading prop in KOE this year averaging 185m a match and tackling at 96%
Why desperately?
He's finished off tries well so far, good strike rate.
If we can get him fit and lose a few kilos, get his speed back then he becomes a weapon again.
He's just finding his feet and you want him sacked. 🤔
