Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Why do I feel uneasy about this.
Do you think he could recapture that form when he played awesome in a grand final winning team.
Ever since then he been hot and cold in two struggling teams.
Is he passed it?

This year he has looked the goods.
Just don't think his body can handle backrow week in week out, that would be my biggest concern. As a centre wouldn't think twice about it, instant upgrade over anything we have.

Bird had been playing decent as a backrower prior to being shifted to 5/8.
He spent all off season training as a backrower.
Might be the case of the best of what’s available for us and has utility value which could be ideal for us in case any of our rookie backrowers or Blore and Talau develop / recover quicker than expected.
If we are offering 3 years I’d reduce it to 500k a season
Absolutely at 500k, it however reads there is big money on offer.
Why would he leave St G, surely they would pay that or more?

Anyone else think that sheensy currently playing madden in the #14 jersey, with brooks moving to hooker, is to set up for doueihi's return?

Definitely makes the transition much easier and man, would give us some serious potency in attack.
Whom are you suggesting makes way for Doueihi?

It's interesting if true that Bird's manager called Sheens after the 2 weeks we have had.
Normally Managers late in a negotiation period don't go calling around unless the player asks.
If we can get momentum going with some more wins, be interesting what other players could become available for us to recruit for 2023 and 2024 come Nov.

I've seen this being said so many times on this forum it is just not true, here is a selected list of fullbacks showing their height and weight.

Dylan Edwards(Panthers)
Height:183 cm
Weight:94 kg

William Kennedy (Sharks)
Height:183 cm
Weight:88 kg

Matt Dufty (Bulldogs)
Height:179 cm
Weight:83 kg

Hamiso Fidow (Cowboys)
Height:186 cm
Weight:89 kg

Ryan Papenhuyzen(Storm)
Height:181 cm
Weight:80 kg

Daine Laurie (WT)
Height:181 cm
Weight:83 kg

As can be seen on this list our fullback is not a smaller sized fullback compared to many fullbacks.

Walsh? And Campbell?

No problem offering Bird a 3 year deal as he can cover a lot of positions and besides the injury today (impact injury could happen to anyone) he has been pretty good.
He also has that competitive edge and looks like he cares..
Maybe 3 years at 450-500k not $550 and add some incentive on top for games played to increase that figure.

We can all see that in 2022 we have a weak squad. Why are we 600k under the Cap?
Not only are we weak, were not even spending as much as we could to improve the Squad. Seriously poor list Managment.
