Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Daine Laurie did his knee in the early rounds. It wasn't the broken leg that stopped him.
He started the season pretty poorly. If I recall correctly there were plenty of comments about him looking unfit and the game he did his knee was only just starting to look ok.

Either way I still don’t expect that Hastings will be as fit at the start of next year as he would be had he not been injured. I guess we will have to wait and see if that has any effect or not.

You don't need to keep explaining yourself to these Brooks lovers mate. Most people with a brain would understand Luke isn't the answer
Cheers lad...

Simple as that eh.

@The_Patriot said it best.

Comparing the two players, it's a no brainer.

Madden: younger, cheaper and better.

Common sense one would think.
😅

Not that simple u can't just piss 600k down the drain.

He's on a big salary next year so there has to be some strategy around that.

It's not that simple to say here u go knights. Stuff them. It might be better to keep Brooks for the year doesn't mean he has to be first choice.

Knights did that with Pearce and look how that worked out.

We did it with Mbye though.....

Hoping Shifty Sheens knows what he's doing.

Late Friday afternoon and no information on the Wests Tigers front. I think the supporters are entitled to know a little of what's happening instead of using the Pom as the only pipeline of information.

He's getting experience now.........

With experienced players like AD (70 games now) + Hastings + Api ... there's no better time.
He will have all of 12 games nrl experience that this not enough.
Perhaps extend him for a further 2 years and let him play reserves for 2023 and then let Brooks go 2024 and Madden takes over but 2023 too important to potentially throw away a Brooks douhie Hastings and Api combo

In Sheens' hands.

It's like a dramatic screenplay at times how things play out.

Sheens has been very adamant regarding Brooks... but they don't call him Shifty Sheens for nothing.

So WT have their Coaches sorted for the next 5 years so where are the new signings, if any going to be announced?
There's hardly anyone to sign right now. The window for trades is shut, you cannot contract the next cohort of off-contract players until November 1, and Tigers do most of our horse trading in the offseason now anyway.

So be patient.

Since it's Friday and we haven't had any news or many rumours, I am going to speculate on our outgoing & incoming Top 30 squad players for next season.

Out (10):
Mikaele
L Leilua
Kei
Tuilagi
Garner
Liddle
Peachey
Simpkins
Simpkin
Gildart

In (10):
Korisau
Papali'i
Ngatikaura
Pole
Sione Fainu
Reilly
Nu Brown
Tumeth
Hayze Perham (as fullback, centre, wing & 5/8 cover plus good mates with Papali'i)
Jack Murchie

I'm tipping Tamou is given a 1-year deal (if not, Marty Taupau or Aaron Woods come on down for 1 season). Also if Tuilagi can stay on at the Tigers, then Murchie won't be required.
