Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Great to have Joffa on for another 3 years. He's been a leader this year, a solid but unspectacular player. Hope he's on a decent contract for us and we didn't succumb to overs just to keep him from the Storm.
I was surprised he never got a spot on the bench for Qld this year. He played well for us

He walked into Leichhardt Oval on Sunday with his Under Amour hoodie over his head covering himself up and then sat just in front of me at the end of the field. He hid himself from the fans where he sat though he did remove his hoodie, however I think that is to big note himself via his inflated ego.

He complained last night that he paid $50 for a ticket for GA admission and whilst I am a full season member tickets were $35 for GA Adults for the extra tickets i bought. The question I would ask is why would he go and watch something that he constantly bags to the point of being boring.

I went to CommBank earlier in the year and tickets were $64 for the same viewing place on the ground that he sat which I agree is expensive but again I had a choice as did he. I spent $700 on four origin tickets that were not the best seats. If I did not want to pay it I again had a choice.
That is an NRL issue, however he wants to target one club that is at its lowest point.

The problem this year I see is that our club has let its supporters down. RL to me is tribal and you play for your club and have a hatred towards the opposition and when you see that we rolled over and let our players leave when we had so many injuries, it says to me senior management could not care if we came last as long as it saves them money. I have bought 2 full season memberships for the last 10 years and whilst I have seen little success my passion for my team is strong ( blindly each year).

I want success, however if the effort is there and we lose I can go home thinking we tried and this year I cannot say that I have felt that. If we roll over and let IP out of his contract then I will still follow my team, but will not renew membership or buy anymore merchandise to support.

Well that's not true.

Nothing will change if no one does anything to instigate the change is a more accurate description.
And what do you propose?

Its Almost like the officials of our club are actually wanting the club to fail.
The recent debacle in the NQ game, & with every bit of evidence in our favour.

& had we forced the issue & backed our team,
I could not see how we could lose.
but we back down, & NRL WIN

LIKE WE ARE ON A SLOW BOAT TO SUICIDE.

Why would any football club sign a halfback
& 9 years later, he is still failing.
They still are not talking about getting rid of him because of his failings, they are of the mind that next year he may come good.

& that is what they have been saying for the last 8 years. ????.
Yeah I have had similar thoughts too. Maybe Vlandys is giving Pascoe brown paper bags to ensure we fail so the NRL can have their wish and shut us down and move us to Perth.

The Wests Tigers is owned 90% by Wests magpies Pty. Wests Magpies Pty is made up of Wests Ashfield and the Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club. Though Wests Ashfield control the WSDRLFC as well.

The other 10% is owned by the Balmain District Rugby League Football Club.

The Wests Tigers board is made up of 8 directors.

Wests Ashfield have 4
WSDRLFC has 1
Balmain has 1
And 2 independent directors appointed by the rest of the board.
Are they really Independant if they are appointed by the board? 😂

So anyone got any goss on the POMs, Bateman would be alright for the right price to partner Papalaii in the 2nd row. Joffa ✅ hopefully Hastings next 🙏🏼 Don’t think we won a game when he didn’t play

I'm happy joffa re - signed if only to show others that he's not jumping ship .
Well done . My view of him is he's the best of a bad bunch .Tackle count high ,normally work rate high but not last 2 weeks. His line breaks ,Line break assists and tackle busts a bit low .He's a bit like Twal low error count high tackle count but does not bend opposition line .Stephano can if he's fit

Ofahengaue says he’s looking forward to the next few years, “I’m really pleased to extend my stay at the club after what has been a difficult year for all of us.
“It’s an exciting period ahead for Wests Tigers and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
I love this place and I’m looking forward to the next phase of my career under Tim and his team.

“I’m sure I speak on behalf of all the players in saying that we want to hit the ground running when we return in pre-season. We want to be in the best shape possible for the start of 2023.”

Incoming Head Coach, Tim Sheens says Ofahengaue is a quality player who has developed into a natural leader.
“We’ve brought several younger players through the pathways this season, with more to come, and Joe has played a role in their development. He’s a player they look up to and are comfortable going to for advice," said Sheens.
“I look forward to working closely with Joe over the coming years.
Like the younger guys, he too is always challenging himself to improve, and that’s exciting for all of us.”

Club CEO Justin Pascoe says Ofahengaue has been a consistently strong performer in his first two years at the club.
“Joe is highly respected within the playing group and the club,” said Pascoe.
“This contract extension is a reward for his professionalism, attitude, and commitment since joining us last season.

"We all look forward to having Joffa and his family with us for at least the next few years.”
