Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yes, I would definitely say you are.

He’s received a bad wrap over the years from fans based on what they see on the field and from the Cleary drama.

He’s actually a fairly humble and down to earth kid. He’s never had any off field issues, gives fans the time and respect they deserve (even though fans don’t always reciprocate) and is really well respected by players across the NRL.

Always thought it was a bit ridiculous the claims fans made about him on here without really knowing what happened.

I get a feeling Mitch is a spoilt kid, just a feeling I get sometimes.
Am I wrong

Sorry I can't forgive Mose's last few games for us.

Remember we were up by 12 against Parra and we got a penalty in front of the posts. The flog took a quick tap and we went on to lose the game.
That was Moses biggest issue early in his career. He tried to score on every single play rather than trying to game manage. Probably doesn’t help when you’re young and trying to prove your coach wrong. Youthful exuberance.

He would often over play his hand attempting the spectacular far too often. It’s only been the last few seasons he’s got that out of his game and is a much better game manager now.

Same game he was deliberately throwing horrible cut out passes to Nofoaluma when he was easily marked, turning over posession time and again when on the attack. It was so obvious he was trying to lose that game in the 2nd half.

He definitely had not signed with Parra before Cleary arrived. Cleary put Moses' offer on hold so he then signed with Parra and his attitude dropped badly because of Ivan's decision and the situation became untenable when Mitch started tanking games.
He hadn’t signed (he couldn’t) but he agreed to Parra terms and had told Parra he was coming. Cleary has mates at Parra. Cleary arrived at the Tigers knowing Moses was gone and wouldn’t play his game. That is why the offer was “pulled“.

the rest of it is on Moses

Moses version of events as per the Tele

Cleary was in charge at the Wests Tigers when Moses was told he could leave and given a backhander on his way out. It was a decision that handed Moses to the Eels and left a bitter taste in the mouth of the young half.

Moses was ropable at the time, telling News Corp at the end of the 2017 season that he was heartbroken when he sat down at a meeting with Cleary and former Tigers football manager Kelly Egan, where they pulled a lucrative extension off the table.

Parramatta were gift wrapped the halfback who has finally buried the curse of the Eels No.7 jersey. The Tigers were left to pick up the pieces after Cleary left at the end of 2018 to join his son Nathan at Penrith.

“It was heartbreaking,” Moses said at the time.

“It ripped my heart out what they did. I didn’t see a point in staying there if they didn’t see a future with me after they pulled my deal.

“If someone comes into your work and says ‘look we don’t need you anymore’, you’re not going to feel welcomed.”

Fabrication

Only reason he went is be

The real world of Cleary dumping him thinking his son would come.
Heard he was told he was dropped to reserves only to then be named in the squad … a few times.
Cleary playing mind games.
That is not true. It’s simple. When Cleary arrived,
moses had already agreed to Parra and was playing us. Cleary knew and stopped the game.
play stupid games, win stupid prizes

the way cleary acted with the dishonesty with the club and signing with Penrith, demonstrated behaviour
I think in this instance Moses is correct to be annoyed, cleary pulled the contract he then went to Parramatta
Still think Moses is a DH but cleary and wests tigers didn't want him

absolute fabrication. Moses had an offer for almost 9 months worth more than Brooks. He signed with Parra for $50k less. He was using Tigers to try to bump up his Parra price. He had already told Parra he was coming

Plus had a crap team around him.

Reality is our club lost their shit when they punted sheens.

I don't begrudge any player for leaving I blame the club for poor management. Yes the club turned their finances around but football management has been disgusting and negligent since sheens left.

His post match interview was a disgrace as well. Something along the lines of:
"So Mitch, a lot of talk of you seeking to join the team that you've just played. Do you know which dressing room you're going to walk into?"
"I've got no idea!" (with a great big cheshire cat grin)

His last few weeks with us were an embarrassment. I'd forgive it as youthful naivete to a degree, but he's shown no contrition whatsoever (at least publicly).

Tbh I've heard much the same as CCTW that he's actually quite well liked in RL circles, but there's something about him that rubs fans the wrong way. We're not the only fan base that doesn't like him.

A lot of rewriting history there,Sheens was largely responsible for destroying our salary cap and completely responsible for signing Anasta and Blair. There were very good reasons for sacking him

The Bulldogs are circling Crichton as a potential fullback, while the Eels are lining up Martin, who has been in talks about a four-year extension at the Panthers.

Martin has been in negotiations with the Panthers for almost three months, but Penrith is baulking at the hard-running backrower’s asking price of just over $550,000 a season.

Panthers pair Staines and Leniu have also been linked with moves at the end of this season – and Wests Tigers are circling the pair.

Staines is expected to be part of a player swap with ex-Panther Tyrone Peachey once the grand final is over, while Leniu could be moved on because of Penrith’s tight salary cap.

The Dragons discussed making a play for Leniu, but have so far opted against it. (DT)

Need to sign Leniu before Bulldogs sign Crichton...otherwise the 'tight' cap space mightn't be so bad.

Why are we not trying to sign Martin is the big question.. 550k is a steal for a SOO player.
We have cash to burn and I would offer 650k just to at least make others increase there offers.
