Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So Brooks is good enough for better teams than our - But not for you...

How is Pezet stuck behind Hughes? Wasn't Munster leaving a few posts back...
He's straight in for Munster - They've also just released Cooper Johns, (The recognised back up half) So fair chance Pezet is going no where.

Moses - Don't disagree, But getting him back is fantasy atm.... As is Walker.
If Taafe was a better 7 than Brooks, He'd be playing 7 somewhere already...

So - Outside your fantasies, And players not as good as Brooks (Like Taafe)
And your admission that you don't care if we don't have a halfback - Because you just want the one that we have at the moment gone....

I'll ask again, Who you getting?
Maybe we can get Chee Kam back and play him at 7...
It's obvious your point is personal and you don't care if we have an actual half playing there or not.
Very logical response BB

After next year, Api qualifies as well. Nofa will be here anyway.
Pardon my ignorance, but how does the long service allowance work? I thought it was a period of time with the same club. If Api will be eligible playing for us, that would make me wrong. Can you clarify?

Yeah, any juniors that you developed before their NRL debuts. At this point it is an extra $200k across the entire squad regardless of how many qualify. Looks to be moving to $500k from next year. Really should be $200k for each player.

My bad - I meant Junior Development....
My understanding of it (although way back) was you could use it on long serving players
- Or junior developments, If you didn't have a player eligible - You could bring up a couple extra young blokes?

I also remember us getting fined for using LSP allowance on Farah,
Because we asked if he was eligible (As a Junior) they were slow getting back to us, and we went ahead discounting him anyway and were over the cap after they knocked him back.
We'd counted a couple of his junior years at Balmain... And they had a problem with that
(Because we're Wests Tigers)

Veteran and Developed Player Allowance for eligible players who were either developed by the Club prior to becoming NRL players and / or have been a Top 30 player for at least 8 years at the Club or have been a Top 30 player for at least 10 years across the game

A players player.

On my Mattel set, you could wind him up and he’d kick a goal from anywhere in the laundry.

Sail over the cat and into the front loader to win the club championship.

I’d make Edmed sit out it under the bed in a sock for the entire season because he signed with Superleague.

I think even Keith Barnes told him to sign with Superleague. Balmain were going to offer him 50k or something, SL offered him $1m over three years. Can’t blame him for taking the offer. As I recall when he told the Balmain management what the offer was they said he should accept it.

Edit: Turns out it was John Chalk who told him to take the $uper League money. Our offer may have been as low as $40k for one season.
