Honestly, that's been said on here for the last 6 years.
I've been reading a lot of the archived stuff on the forum and it has been weird to see how nothing much has changed. Even the debates.
Everyone is basically having the same old arguments, with just the coach or player being substituted/replaced with another person. (Benji needs a genuine half black beside him looked like the most frequently talked about topic.)
I honestly find some of the heated discussions bizarre as not many of the players being disputed went on to be top tier NRL players. Or they certainly wouldn't have made one bit of a difference in bringing us success, if they did stay here.
The potential recruitment talks are the most interesting reads, as there's about a dozen of the same posters rightfully questioning both value and worth (for us) of any targets. For example, in 2017 while everyone sounded content with either Graham, Packer and/or Matulino these persons named JWH, JFH, Bromwich, Klemmer, Hamlin Uele etc.,
I know there was no guarantee they'd come but considering the money invested in Packerlino I wonder if there was a genuine chance if we'd have put in a higher bid on the other mentioned players.
I do still enjoy reading everyone's take yet can't help but feel some of it's pointless (the arguments I mean) unless we can make a number of key signings, that will actually improve the overall quality of the roster. Guess I'm saying until we can do this everything probably stays the same for us.
FWIW I find the 2010 and 2011 threads the best.
