Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

With 3rd Party it is probably more. Was speaking to someone high up at the Storm a few weeks back and the Bulldogs are using alot of 3rd Party deals to secure profile players as those deals provide multiple benefits now/future to some players.
I still believe there should be no TPA or at least capped .
My Gut just feels like Dogs will land Moses and more with the NRL not blinking an eyelid.
just like Josh Jackson retirement when they need cap relief. Sorry but what player walks away from 500-600k to do a embassor role without getting the money. Blind Freddy knows he will get the money except the NRL. Clearly I'm still holding a grudge for the Farah thing . :LOL:
Gus knows how to work the system and knows they won't challenge him.

That isnt how I remember it.

I remenber there was a scandal that eels undercut him and offered him 400 or 450. Then came back at 500 whereas the dogs came in with a no BS up front offer. I distinctly recall journalists reporting that that why Mhoney was impressed, dogs went stright for the jugular.
Parramatta have a history of low balling and nothing sexual there they did it to Gutho Moses Mahoney Stefano Matterson

Mahoney= 600
Kikau=800
Sutton=500
Pele=200
Burton=Unsigned yet but romoured 800.
JAC=550
tpj=750
Moses=1.1 if they land him.

5.3 mil for top 8.

Then you have RFM=400
Davey=220
King =300
6.225 TOP 10
Add in 8 min wagers and thats 7.3 mil over 19 players. 11 amongst 3.7 mil averages out just over 320k left per player.
If RFM is long service then its an extra 200k.
In the words of Geoff Toovey there has to be an investigation, if they win the premiership then nrl discover they cheat the cap well 2023 will be a wasted year like 2009

No. In the salary cap era you have to break the rules to get out of the cellar. Every club has to spend so much of there salary cap. If you have a heap of crap you have to buy better. Sometimes you just have to get the player. Have a look at the teams caugh5 over the cap...it was because they were turning over the roster. It's do what you have to do to improve.
Everyone cheats except for us cry tigers fans.
I'd say everyone else has ambition

Didn't stop him from winning plays in world cup games and grand finals....
He's a big gamer.
I had big expectations on him, but i've changed a little. Yes, he took a couple of intercepts and is good defensively, but something is missing. He is quick over the 100, but not speedy off the mark.
I'm not sure fullback is his position, he is a lacking a bit of aggression in his play.

The stats state something else.

Doueihi 87% tackle efficiency and Wighton 85.6%.
Exactly. Jack Wighton is the most overrated player getting about these days. He's the Braith Anasta of the modern age

Back when the big 3 first left they were all going to the dogs but des didn't rate Mitch and the deal fell through. Wonder if that’s still in his mind.

He is far better then AD, in every way. Faster,harder, smarter, and can tackle and pass. The spiral bomb is about as effective as a firecracker in Afghanistan.
His defence is weak. Made Capewell look like a star in origin. He has pace but his passing game is average and he's dumb as a box of hammers

That's how it was portrayed in the media at the time.
Eels low balled him upfront, Bulldogs didn't & put in a nice sweetener as well upfront.
He told the Eels, they then rushed back quickly with another offer and he signed with Bulldogs.
Eels stuffed up.

People need to remember Hookers don't get a huge price tag on them, we got Api for a steal considering the prices players are potentially getting 24 onwards.

Good faith is always the best approach, including with the Koroisau situation.

Expect that if no particular clause exists, WT will still act in good faith by sweetening it somewhat, as successful partnerships are based on good faith.

I think Dogs got a good deal. 450 was way unders and is the parra way. Mahoneys strength was JMK's weakness, which was fast good ball from dummy half. Mahoneys hooker speed allows players like Moses to use their natural ability with some room. Add a rolling forward pack and itll make weak teams look like swiss cheese. Id value Mahoney 650k, now that we know there is a good cap increase, 700k.

Gould is quoted as saying he never underpays a player.
Seems to buy good faith in players and makes them want to be under him. Tigers and eels are always looking for that sneaky deal.
We do two things, undercut, or go way over.
Leb, I have another leb mate who says same thing about Moses.

So what you are saying is we are $200k/$250k above dogs per annum? And he still hasn’t signed with us?

If that’s correct we’re done.
