Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lots of laughing emojis to my post. Brian To'o averages 203 run meters a game, 70m more than JAC a game. Roughly the same linebreaks and tries, 10% more efficient defender. He is literally like having JAC and an extra forward every game. The guy is a beast and a massive reason Penriff are successful. The metres he gets from the back is like and extra forward and their forwards dont have to get back so far.

not as flashy but the ultimate modern winger.
Yes that’s all true, what u write. But he is in a team that has won the last two premierships, which makes everything easier! Hard to compare to a guy in a team down the bottom. Remember tamou he had great meters before coming to us!

Perhaps the delay in Adam and Luke’s contract extensions is sheens has told them both who ever plays the bets out of you 2 gets to play outside Moses and gets an extension?

Ofahengaue had a great year last year. I hope under the new regime we see more offloads and attacking prowess. We know he was a player with far more flair at the Broncs and this aspect of his game has suffered. I would very much like to see it return to his game.

But I hear u only got to do ur best at the tigers lol 😂
On the Jordan Rankin scale of excellent
What would you give your self out of 10 Alex is a 10 and does his best every game and you still have to be good enough to play reserve grade at a high standard

You reckon Moses wants to come back to the Tigers to knife Brooksy and play with AD? I think you might have your anti-brooks glasses on?
Or do you mean at different clubs?
Same club.

Brooks is done, lovely guy and skillful, but it's time to acknowledge facts.

Best paid player needs to be the best performing player that changes the result if the game most often.

Giving away Nofa and AD would be deadset stupid. Making MM one of the highest paid players in the game is sacrifice enough to get him. Let Brooks and Douehi have this year to show what they can do with a decent pack. Brooks still has to prove himself and shouldn't be given any more guarantees than any other player fighting for a position. I hope this is just another unsubstantiated rumour amongst all the others.

I think we’ll sign Moses and get him for this season by swapping Doueihi to Parra.

Or if Keary goes to Parra to replace Moses I’d say Doueihi will go to Bulldogs.

I think his desire to play in the halves will unfortunately stop him playing centre for us. A bit like Burton at Penrith.

I also think Kenny M will leave us early.

Just my thoughts.
or a bit like Hastings desire to play 7 rather than 13

Maybe you don’t agree with every pundit ever, but Grothe is regarded as one of the all time great wingers.
I can’t compare to Irvine or King since I never saw them, but in my era Boustead (early), Wendell, Lote, Offiah, Nagas, B Morris even Folau were standouts. Carne and Hancock were excellent too, but I still wouldn’t put them, ET or Chicka in the class of JAC, who for me is next level dynamic, lightning fast, unbelievably evasive and an unreal finisher.
The one I would have on my other wing is Michael O’Connor - who was sublime even as a part-time winger and had an amazing skill set. Silky smooth, great kicker and a game changer.
Interested as to who you think is “far better”.
How can we forget the 1 and only our very own black flash Larry Corowa

The only reason they would release him early is if they can get a strong replacement on a long term contract immediately. If the chooks said Keary is free to go immediately and Moses was with us for 24, if they got Keary for 23 then they would probably release Moses. If they held on to Moses for 23 whilst Keary was Available, and then he signed elsewhere, then by 2024 there may be no elite halves on the market leaving them much worse off in the end
I see this as to being the only way it would happen

I would have my fav Michael O'Connor in there, only because I played against him and I'm biased 😉

Cobar I think people do have their favourite players in all teams and positions at any given season, the names mentioned in bigsiros list are all great players in different times and systems..The name not on that list is Rod Wishard the Steelers winger and goalkicker who from memory played origin a few times,I mention him because when the Steelers came into the comp he was a solid link in the team for quite awhile.Rod was an honest hard worker that every team needs along with the superstars...

So many great wingers,in all eras, impossible to compare as the game has changed so much'.
Like halves, the best seemed to have come from the best sides, as they get more opportunities.
Though not always.

I know TT I don't disagree. 👍
How long is a piece of string though.
Do you not agree that our very own Taniela Tuiaki could have been a world beater if he played in a team like the Eels during Grothes reign and a lot can be said with a lot of great players.
One thing people dont think about when naming their team of the century is who are they going to play against.
If you were to assemble a great team you would have to have equally great players in opposing positions otherwise it's game over.
Also comparing players of different eras is not right because of different training methods, different standards of opposition, changes in diet and recovery and the list goes on.
I do like comparing and enjoying players of the same era combat each other in the same competition, that's why I like the SOO opposed to Test matches.
