Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The club knows where is stands with Moses and believe me we have well and truly moved on…..Sheens has a plan B for 2024….
But most tigers fans had the premonition Moses was re-signing with the Eels anyway. Not a big shock. I was hoping for a second go at Brooks; Moses and Teddy combo but that’s life.

Wish Moses the best.

Hopefully plan B is promising.

No idea what plan B is. No halves of note off contract for awhile.

Such a shame there are hardly any halfbacks anymore. All want to be 5/8ths and run to the ball.

Eels forum saying TPAs didn’t eventuate for the tigers. What does that mean exactly? I don’t understand that side of the business. So thhe tigers couldn’t get the extra $?

If that were true, Parra wouldn't know about it. His agent is a very shrewd operator and is not going to volunteer that information.

I also heard Coach Sheens saying that the club has an immigration lawyer acting for them, hoping to get Bateman here by end of January.
Why would he have trouble getting into the country, been here before and Canberra have been bringing poms in by the truck load with no problems

Thats why a players worth should be what the highest bidder is willing to pay. For example Rorters offer Tedesco "700k"( plus the under the table money) . Tigers offer 1.2 M. .As the market has now determined Tedescos value , he now costs the Rorters 1.2 m out of their salarycap not the bogus 700K . There is no restraint of trade , Tedesco can sign where ever he wants & the Rorters can sign him if they think he is worth taking 1.2 m out of there salary cap. Open & transparent . We had a discussion on this a little while ago & there are a few more rules to add but if anyone is interested we can start another thread.
Open and transparent, I like that. So you're saying the highest bidder determines market value and whichever club manages to win the player over has to pay this market price? Great idea in principle but we all know that, in practice, players express a willingness to 'play for less' at the club they prefer. Also, how do we stop clubs making bogus offers, simply to push prices up. It's an interesting and important discussion to be had.

What's Ethan Sanders' contract situation? Off contract for 2024?

If Eels retain MM, that will block his pathway as he is already 19 and about ready for his NRL debut me thinks. If we've made an offer as reported this could end up with a much bigger upside for Wests Tigers. We could have wrapped up many of the next-gen superstars for 2025...

Been saying it for years, it’s not like it is ground breaking news. Of course the same rorts are not restricted to third party deals. You can do the same sort of thing unofficially with a players contracts. Wives getting bogus jobs, the possibilities are endless. Near impossible to police and the NRL certainly will not do anything that might upset the apple cart
And there lies the problem.
