Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Did someone post yesterday that Sullivan is off contract? If so id be approaching him i think the dragons are in more of a mess than us. He wont be content with coming off the bench and the biproduct of that is Hunt wont like moving to hooker to accommodate him. Id be sounding out Sullivan at the same time putting my feelers out to Hunt, one of them is likely to want to move on if not both depending on what goes on with Hook.
I know Sullivan comes off as a bit of a prat but its evident he has talent and he can kick goals as can Hunt.
Edit just saw Sullivan is still on contract till 25 but that doesnt mean a lot these days one of them i feel will end up leaving more likely Hunt.

Anyone got the backstory behind the Scuttlebutt in the SMH about Pearce changing his mind on our offer. It is behind a paywall so I could only read the excerpt. Clickbait or news?

He was interviewed this morning on Sen & said he was committed to catalans for this year but wouldn’t rule out a return to the NRL after that .

Former Roosters champion Mitchell Pearce has said he is open to returning to the NRL just weeks after declining an offer from the Tigers.

The 34-year-old is currently at Catalans Dragons following his three-year stint with the Newcastle Knights.

In an interview with SEN Radio, he confessed his interest in returning to Australia in the top grade to see out his career.

“I'm still open (to coming back), I'll wait and see what happens.

“Obviously the Tigers thing came up the other week and I declined on that, I was really grateful (it was) nice respect from the Tigers but I'm committed here for this season.

“I'm loyal to the club to try and win the comp this year but we'll wait and see what happens next year.

“Obviously (I'm) getting older so you get to appreciate every season you playing at this stage, you enjoy it, I still feel like I've got some footy in me, I'm committed fully to this season and I'll see what happens after that.”

At this stage no clubs are leading the chase for the ex-State of Origin representative, with interest from clubs uncertain.

Said he was flattered by our offer but was under contract for this year and was committed to seeing out this season and winning Super League. Said he was open to finishing his career in the NRL

I think Saints have a disgruntled gun halfback who may be worth a Benji text.
Yes watched his interview after the game and looked pretty down , said they played dumb , I would be getting his agent on side with a fat offer if Hook goes , kick stones and take our offer up 2 years on good coin , partner Brooks would be solid , all we need to do to help it out is to finish ahead of the dragon this year but keep grabbing wins as we go so he can see our improvement , we can win more games going forward as long as we don’t shuffle the team to much

I thought he was a fullback coming through? And only playing centre because of Turbo? Irrespective, I want him. Looks dangerous with the ball.
We should go hard for him because Turbo is perennially busted and is hampering the team more than improving it....The sooner Manly realise this and implement plan b the harder it will be to sign their better juniors.

The problem is now it's onto the stage of diminishing returns unless we pull something out of the hat like Bula.

The pack is pretty good, the outside backs now have some talent and the halves aren't that bad. Ideally we'd get a gun ball playing lock, a gun halfback and a gun outside back. I can't see us getting any of those players.

It'll be interesting how the team develops over the next couple of seasons because we aren't far off being a decent team.
There are a lot of positives happening with our team at the moment.
Once we cut out the stupid penalties and basic mistakes we'll win a lot more of the narrow games (Knights, Manly games I'm looking at you)

If Manly are smart they try to shift Turbo now while some desperate club thinks he's still capable of being Turbo.
It'll never happen of course , so now Manly are stuck with him chewing up a large slice of salary cap.

He sure does look "cooked" .. its like he's gun shy .. doesnt want to run fast because he is afraid that he is gonna blow another hammy. Just about in every tackle he got up limping or thinking he felt a twitch is his groin. Goneski .. !!
