It’s supposedly for Sean Keppie with the reasoning being Keppie is on somewhere around 300k which is supposedly half of the 600k Twal is supposedly earning.Anyone know anything about the twal player swap?
Simply put, because they believe they are untouchable and above any review or it's findings. The board are a bunch of stupid bastards. Why would you re-sign him when there is about to be an independent review of the organisation. No one should be extended from management until its done.
Actually not a bad play. He's the sort of ideal player to be number 14 every week. Having specialist hookers or back limits your flexibility when injuries occur. I'd rather TDS and Fainu etc develop playing 80 minutes every week in cup and have a Cade Cust type play 14. He's that Kurt Mann, Connor Watson, Dylan Walker type that gives you a backup 9, 6, 7 or centre in the 17.We are apparently speaking with Cade Cust about him potentially signing with us.
He has been hampered by injury and hasn’t produced his best for Wigan, but he’s still only 24y.o and I remember him playing a couple of good games both in the halves and at hooker for Manly a few seasons back before he headed to the UK.
Could be a decent depth signing on a minimum wage.
Nathan Brown would be a handy pickup on a NSW Cup contract. A successful and experienced head in the dressing room with the kids to guide and mentor them and play the odd 1st grade game when injuries necessitateCan confirm Manly would be happy with Twal for Keppie
meeting with ciraldo and gus impressed wouldnt rule out the dogs
some whispers that nathan browns management have approached the club, could be a nsw cup signing
Finally we keep a good one.Wonderful news for all us fans
Thanks Kade 👍Can confirm Manly would be happy with Twal for Keppie

I totally forgot this guy existed. Amazing how this game can chew you up, spit you out and make you a distant memory. The list of players like that are as long as your arm.We are apparently speaking with Cade Cust about him potentially signing with us.

True well that sucks, I’m a massive twal fan have been for a long time will be disappointed when/if he leaves. I rate keppie I think he’s a very talented forward but at the expense of twal no thanks. Cheers for the info mate appreciate it heapsIt’s supposedly for Sean Keppie with the reasoning being Keppie is on somewhere around 300k which is supposedly half of the 600k Twal is supposedly earning.
I have heard Fulton believes we need more punch from our middles.
Not saying he’s wrong that we need more punch from our middles, but I believe Twal provided the most punch of all our middles throughout season 2023.
So why not keep him and offload someone else ? Klemmer played well for the first half of the season, but dropped off with his impact in the second half of the season. He’s not getting any younger, I’m concerned his form may really drop off moving forward and I’d be much happier moving him on rather than Twal to be honest.
Teal on $600k you sure of that?…that’s overs for a benchieTrue well that sucks, I’m a massive twal fan have been for a long time will be disappointed when/if he leaves. If we've signed some quality young outside backs then they won't be any of the ones you listed. Not sure there's much value in them on NSW cup contracts eitherThere has been some mentions on Twitter from someone seemingly ITK with both Manly & WT players that we have recruited some quality outside backs from Manly's junior rep age group that had Latu Fainu & Josh Feledy, no names mentioned.
This poster also suggested a few Blacktown Workers NSW Cup players could make their way over to the Wests Magpies for next season.
None of this would surprise given the Fulton link.
My speculation would be some of these names in positions where we could utilise depth - Clayton Faulolo (centre/wing), Jake Toby (fullback), Cooper Johns (half), Jakob Sykes (prop), Austin Dias (prop) &/or Nathaniele Roache (hooker).
Before anyone criticises, these would be NSW Cup contracts where we need some fresh experience, leadership & Cup quality players.
If we can stop making unplanned, haphazard decisions and bring in people capable of thinking strategically then we'll be in a much stronger position.I understand people’s concerns that they believe Wests Tigers have now collected two consecutive wooden spoons and believe it has a lot to do with bad decisions made at board level.
The question I have is what difference would it realistically make to our on field results over the next 2-3 years regardless of whether or not the current board stays or goes ?
Obviously like any Wests Tigers supporter if it was a high chance a new board could come in and magically make the club springboard into the top 8, then it would be a no brainer to bring a new board in ASAP.
If we are being realistic the on field results over the next 2-3 seasons will not change regardless of who the board consists of.
It’s hard to imagine we improve much next season, that would not change with a new board or with Bellamy or Bennett coaching, but there is reason to be optimistic results will start to improve dramatically in 2025-2026 and again that will be regardless of who is on the board and who is coaching.
Klemmer was mostly brought in as a mentor to the young Props and middle forwards coming through in our juniors and lower grades. You’re right his form did drop a bit in the second half of the season but apart from Api who didn’t? Everyone was never the same after the Cowboys game where we got hammered, everyone’s form suffered after that it was probably a good thing that Api was out for that game he may have suffered after that too and decided to leave or at least not re-sign and retire after his contract was up. But in regards to Twal I like him I do, but we’re simply paying him too much money for a bench Prop. Most teams wouldn’t have him as a starter, and even with us he’s come off the bench more times then he’s started. Klemmer’s form at the start of the season was why he was perfect to bring in as a mentor to the young ones coming through. If we let him go and gave the mentorship to Twal for the young ones they won’t do good under him. Defence wise probably they would, but attack they would struggle under him to learn from. It’s supposedly for Sean Keppie with the reasoning being Keppie is on somewhere around 300k which is supposedly half of the 600k Twal is supposedly earning.
