Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It will all come down to this year. He will have every chance to figure it out this season and Kit is still only on dev squad so Justin will have one year and one year only to demonstrate he shouldn't be swept aside for Kit. I agree with you I think Kit is the better prospect for NRL. Justin has "ESL star" energy.

Kit will be able to play this year though.

As bad as Matamua was I thought it was a pretty low act to not put him back on for the final 10 minutes and give him a chance to redeem himself.
The game was done.

Playing 9 has exposed a lot of flaws I'm his game.

Just nt sure how much of that was due to playing out of position at 9.

lol.

The Sharks got Hynes.

The Broncos got Reynolds.

Without a controlling half we're in the bottom 4.

We don't have one.

Sullivan, Fainu -- none of them are controlling halves.

Everyone believing they are -- are living in hope and dreaming.

Without a genuine number 7 -- we're going to be back of the pack.

The ONLY HOPE we have is that Sezer somehow has some miraculous, turn the clock back, it's Sezer from 4 seasons ago season, that he hasnt had since moving overseas and that no other club could spot.

If he fails -- we're ......
Yet that was all of 2023.
Hey Mitchell Moses, come back, Come be our halfback... Pleaze.
Hey Mitchell Pearce, follow your dads footsteps, come be our halfback
Hey Shawn Johnson, NZ extraordinare. Come be our halfback and leave NZ??

Hey XYZ player...
We looked pathetic. Whats worse:
Not only did we punt Hastings.
We had Madge, Michael McGuire. Former coach of Adam Reynolds. We could have made the offer to stay in Sydney. Adam signed with a bottom of the ladder Broncos.

But hey, clearly we wanted Hastings. Then we dinnit want him. Then???

My view, fix what we can. Backline structure, defense and tackling. That way when we get an organising half we will have the team for them.

How do we use Blore as a player swap? He isn’t signed up next year and we have our full 30 positions filled don’t we? Melbourne could just sign him direct. We’d need to swap someone else for Olam.

After tonight's game I think Stef. was very ordinary. Very disappointed with his energy output/aggression.

I didn't watch the game but he really needs to pick up his game. He has the ability to be a Petero Civoniceva prop but he needs a lot of work to get to that level.

I don't care about aggression per se. I want to see good hard runs, solid hard hitting defense and quick play the balls.

I wouldn’t read too much into Stef’s game. Its post season and he hasn’t played in 6 weeks.
Depends what 'to much' is. Lazy efforts in defence and only the odd decent carry. It's pretty much how he plays about 70% of his games. It's the type of performance we should expect from him at this point.
If he can ever find a way to play his best consistently he will be a heck of a front rower. Just is yet to do so.

Olam is a spent entity and signing him would be worse than signing James Roberts. Losing Blore for him would be ridiculous. Blore was pushing for starting spot with us and Olam was playing QLD cup. One is on the up coming off his first relatively full season and showed a ton of promise and the other clearly fell off a mile. Terrible business if we do it.
You see the thing with Olam - the space btwn the ears is operational.

I relate him to Petero although he is nowhere near that level yet. I remember Petero taking some time to get up to form I assume because he was a big guy. I think Stef is similar. It might take him some time to get into form and then he needs a good run with injuries/suspensions.

Crichton ran harder than Stef.
Stef should never wear a starting jersey again, until he watches continually re-runs of Sterlo TRYING to run through an SOO banner in the USA.
He was playing for his country, does he any more motivation. He needs to lift and find a gear or two next year. Run hard son, leaders lead!

In regards to Stef, he can run hard when he wants to.
Not sure what’s holding him back and proves it’s not a Wests Tigers issue when he’s not doing it when representing his homeland.
Regardless there is not many his size that have a good enough engine to play the minutes per game he’s capable of and he’s one we need to keep long term, just hoping we don’t have to pay a ridiculous price to keep him.
Blore is a must keep as well. We have stood by him through some tough times, he’s now at the stage where he’s maturing as an NRL quality forward and has shown glimpses of the immense talent he possesses both as an edge back rower and as a middle forward.
We realistically need 6 middle forwards in our NRL squad each week, 3 starters and 3 on the bench. Of those 3 on the bench you need at least one of them who can play as a middle forward or on an edge.
We currently have Ice, Blore, Seyfarth and Samuela Fainu who can all play as middles or edge forwards which gives us a nice balance.
A bit concerning is we don’t really have anyone who can play as an edge forward and also in the centres should an injury occur throughout the game. Maybe young Mansfield an option for this type of role as he played in the centres at times with our Flegg side I believe ?
