We’d be a much better shout paying overs to get Dearden imo. There will probably be enough good clubs offering Luai enough that coming here for an extra couple of hundred thousand a year might not be worth it. Whereas if we offer Dearden big overs, I doubt many clubs will offer him anything in the same ballpark.
1.1 million a season is definitely paying big overs for him

I don’t think it would take 1.2 or 3 to get Deardon here like it would Luai. But you‘d think it would be somewhere close to a million. How much do you pay to get Dearden ? I reckon they'll cost about the same.
Well Luai does have 3 premiership rings so imagine that makes him worth more !How much do you pay to get Dearden ? I reckon they'll cost about the same.
I don't think it is big overs with the rise in the Cap for next year and after. 33% increase in the cap. So $1.2 mill in the new $900kObvs Luai has been a very big part of the Panthers success over the last few years, they can afford to let him go. 1.1 million a season is definitely paying big overs for him, Tigers are desperate and they don’t have a lot of options around. Training under Benji might be exactly what Luai needs to take his game to the next level as well… time will tell.
He has 3 years left on his contract, he ain't coming here for 1 or 2 years when he can stay at the Storm for 3 yearsIt would be silly to offer him 3 years,… actually if we sign Olam it will be a mistake.
On his day.. when he’s fit… and doesn’t do something silly.Very good player.
When we were 0-6 and couldn’t score tries. My memory is fine.People have short memories. Naden was one of our best the first 6 rounds or so before getting injured and he never really made it back into the team since. When he's fit and healthy, he's our best centre option by a large margin
1.1 million is a bargain.Obvs Luai has been a very big part of the Panthers success over the last few years, they can afford to let him go. 1.1 million a season is definitely paying big overs for him, Tigers are desperate and they don’t have a lot of options around. It comes from the player managers. And yes teams that aren't winning struggle to make key signatures. So much noise around our attempts to sign Luai. Just feels like the same old routine and surely it's a bit of amateur hour again that all this information gets fed to the media when there's been no signature.
And then cue the 'basketcase' and 'tigers rejected again' when we don't get them.
Sorry to be negative, I just wish the club actually learnt how to handle negotiations to avoid this.
