1. I used to play full back - fact
2. I loved playing that position and have an increased interest in watching fullbacks more than other positions in the nrl - fact
3. I like watching Walsh and Ponga play more than I do Tedesco - fact
4. I think Walsh and Ponga are better players in 2024 than Tedesco - opinion.

- for batemen to play in the super league, the tigers had to terminate his existing contract another 2 years worth 800 and 850

- the club releases simpkin and kepoa from existing deals contributing nothing

- richo used this money as a payout to bateman to the amount of $450k

- batemen has signed a new year 2 year deal with the club worth $600k a season

- great business imo, helps with cap space but also helps us lure potential suitors with a reasonable contract

Such a bad deal the original Bateman deal, 4 years and paying 800k and 850k for a player clearly in decline and not to rock up for preseason.

It shows the enormous task Richo has to make us competitive again.

Not to mention all the players getting top 30 deals before they are ready. Thanks for the info.

My view is that Sheens should have stayed in his original role on coming back to the club - junior development. He did have a good eye for young talent.

Once he decided to become Head of Football, then thought he could be a head coach again it all came tumbling down.

Bateman would have already re-signed, but the question is, is the club looking to use his reduced salary as a bargaining chip or do we want him to return? Does the player even want to return?
He was one of our worst players this season. Atrocious discipline and just horrible all around. Benji told him as much and he got pissed. Can that relationship be repaired? Are there any clubs here or overseas interested in him at 400-500k??

Yes he is not tall so unsure how he would go under the high ball. Moving him to center makes that a non-issue.

Pascoe wasn’t ideal, but I think he bore the brunt of a lot of undue criticism.

He was always bound by board and coaching decisions. He was a servant.

He’s got an alibi.

Thankfully we have Richo who knows how to run a club, including how to allocate/budget our salary cap.

It will take another couple of years to undo the crap that Pascoe created.

He deserves all the criticism he gets. I'm glad he's gone, I just wish it happened five years ago. We might have Bennett as coach instead of Benji.

Am I missing something, for us to let him go back England, we had to pay him $450 , and then give him a new deal , should it not be if I want to go then u have broken ur contract, if I am missing something please enlighten me 🤔😳

Two clubs I could see take him BB are Dragons & Broncos. Flanno managed by Isaac Moses would help there. They don't have much in backrow stocks aside from Su'a & Luciano or they could use him at lock.

Broncos reportedly are looking for more hard-nosed experienced players in their pack, however he'd probably be a benchie or backup there with Riki & Piakura plus not sure whether Broncos are dealing with Moses after the whole Seibold stuff.

Be great if Dragons could take him and make our Christmas by taking back Bud too. You know what I'd happily take Blake Lawrie off their books if they'd take both Bateman & Bud.
