Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Terrell May would have to have a brain the size of a cumquat to end up at Concord

There might be hope yet ...
Lol yeah well I don’t think the May family are renowned for their intelligence so yes he might just come here after all. Who knows we could end up with all of them!

I honestly can't tell if their genuine or sarcastic.

Heck with our current performance, maybe they’re optimistic.
Are some of you guys that addicted to your misery ? You’re not being realists . There’s literally zero reason logically to support this club with the recent history , if not optimism and hope .
Like I’ve said previously it’s masochistic . Or like the saying goes misery loves company. So you’re happy in your misery because everyone else is ?
All the concerns are there . Everyone has them . But Jesus Christ it’s November , and we just signed the current NSW 6 , who lead his team to a GF. It’s ok to be optimistic .
If you can’t see reason to change your perspective , then you should literally walk away and find something else . Because reading some of the comments on here is like a looking glass into depression . Find something positive in your life to replace the misery is my point . It’s unhealthy to have that type of attachment.

Can't see Terrell May coming here, hope so but just can't see it. Ciraldo has a connection with the family and the Bulldogs have more to offer in terms of finals football, etc.
Doggies have King, Curran, Hughes, Sutton and Amone. They have got Preston, Kikau and Toupouniua in the back row.
Bailey, Mann and Salmon playing lock.

90% of that pack would be a walk up starter at WT as for Terrell, he is a carbon copy of Josh Curran. If they got rid of say, Salmon and Sutton, "for Terrell" they would have a mobile, hardworking, big minute front row.

What they go need is a damaging prop which is why they got Amone "wait and see" If I was Ciraldo, I would be pushing Kikau into that role sooner than later and spend the Addo-carr $$ on a fullback.

What a difference a year makes . Most of those guys were considered reserve graders a year ago .

Giving him the job is something that the previous administration did. It is not something anyone can do about now. He is contracted to us and will be the coach until it is found out that he doesn't have the skills or his contract runs out.

I have read plenty of rants on here about him not being able to coach; but no evidence has been put forward in support of the claims. Winning the spoon is not evidence of poor coaching in itself. Could a different coach have the same team in the 8? I highly doubt it - either way it is subjective. All of the calls I have read to date are simply opinions - and as the saying goes - just like arseholes everyone has one.

So let's look at objectively. I'm not hearing rumblings from within the club with the exception of a dummy spit from Bateman. If that is evidence I guess Ricky Stuart can't coach either. I'm not saying that his coaching is brilliant (or even staisfactory) as there is no evidence to support that either.

There is evidence to suggest that the 2024 coaching staff were providing the right direction: defence v Sharks, the kick chase at times, the development of our attacking structures over the year. On the other side of the coin the humiliating defeat at spoon bowl rests very much on Benji's shoulders (I expect he learn't a lesson that day).

So overall is it the coach, the roster or the number of kids on top 30 contracts that held us back in 2024?

So yes, giving him the job in the first place was the wrong call. Having said that there is a plan in place that we can clearly see unfolding. Yes we probably need to pick up another couple of forwards before we kick off in 25 to be competitive; but, there have been enough changes to the roster to improve us.

Maybe you have some inside info that the rest of us unwashed don't have. If so it would be great to hear. If not, I expect like the rest of us, you should give him some rope with the improved roster and see where he takes it.

Who knows if the guy can coach .
I just call it as I see it.
He put his hand up to do the job with the roster available.
I see others including Benji himself excusing his failures
Benji: "I'm not coaching for results I'm coaching for the future"
Others here: "He doesn't have the roster, he doesn't have leaders, half the squad is kids"

It's just buying more time it's all this club ever seems to do... While every other club is fighting for a premiership next year we're still looking to the future.... We rarely get that far though as its a results driven business and people (coaches) get the flick
Our good players take off elsewhere and who, can blame them... The cycle then repeats.
Give credit when it's due and if they prove us all wrong next year I'll be first saying we'll done...

Who knows . We don’t even know if Benji is a bad coach . We don’t even really know how much Benji coached in 2023 . We know sweet FA . Yet somehow people on here have fully formed opinions based on these unknowns .
It’s crazy to me . Who knows if Benji is the shittest bloke ever ,can’t coach for shit , and is the demon of all things wests tigers and the Antichrist that will cause the tigers ultimate destruction . lol
But you know what we do know , if he wins we all win . So I do not understand the wrist cutting and death riding going on at the moment . It’s beyond crazy talk .
I’ll reserve my judgement until pre- season . Because the bloke who does have a clue . Who would piss Benji off in a heart beat , is the bloke running the club . And he hasn’t sung anything like that tune yet .
If Benji and it’s an if , he did coach 1/2 of 23 and all of 24 he has not done very well , just my opinion , Richo can’t say anything but I’m 100% behind Benji and he can’t sack him now as he will look as bad as the previous management , I would expect Richo to step in if we are on the bottom 3 , 1/2 way into 25 , I expect more after 3 spoons ,

Yet you keep reading...

It's like people complaining about 360.....YOU also have a choice

You don't have to be a genius or post on here alot to be well aware of how poorly we have performed for many years and you can take a whole lot of pot shots at any number of individuals on and off the field who have played a part - past and present.
You are either a half glass full about next year and support Benj, or half glass empty (some are here for good reason) and over Benji, and while their is no footy no one is right or wrong.

Yes that’s 11 players for 5 spots , plus there is others pushing for spots

One of the things I find myself repeating over and over is that this club puts way to much emphasis on the future, and virtually nothing on the present. And you wonder why they are on a treadmill.

Please god may you be talking about Football 😉

Seriously, I don't think Richo is rock hard. I think he is competent, but no wrecking ball.

Gould, Jason Ryles, Jason Taylor... Wrecking balls. Tough guys who will fire half the club to make it competitive. Flanno seems to be of the same ilk.

Richo will fire people. He is no Gould, for better and worse.
What the hell do you base that on? His record as CEO is as good at better than Goulds. He took the job at this club, and said he will do what he has done at the other clubs he took from the bottom to the top. The fact that he blasted the players that were in the stands laughing at us getting flogged at spoonbowl was an absolute revelation to me ! He cares and will ruffle feathers and tread on toes to achieve the standards amd attitudes necessary for us to have success . Thank god he is here

Well we were fit enough to win 6 games this year. Three times we won 2 in a row.

If we were actually an unfit team my guess is we wouldn’t have won any.

We simply made too many errors in most of the games we played. All experts agree, no team can win a game by making too many errors. No matter how fit you are, error after error fatigues the team especially the forwards.

Fix discipline you fix the problem.
