We have way to many good young hookers coming through, it won’t happen. On this area we are spoilt for choice. We need fast outside backs and better bsckrowers.

I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I did like how Brandon Smith stuck up for Tigers stance on the 5 players returning not in the best shape. I would love Brandon at the club.. a real competitor on the field with some mongrel. Wonder if his support was a signal that he would be interested coming to the Tigers if asked? For the good of his career and probably beyond it, Brandon would be smart to move out of Sydney. If the roosters can’t keep him on a leash then we’re no chance

I mean… was it ever not going to leak? I’m sure the WT know by now that anything that happens goes straight from player to player managers and then onto the media …

I had some hopes that this might have been a way to force out some of the under performers, but I now doubt anything is going to come from this other than players hopefully knuckling down and training hard the rest of the preseason… which is better than nothing …

I’m sure it’s no secret amongst the player group who the players are ? If news of one player leaks then why not all 5?

My thoughts are that this breach notice for being overweight probably happens more often then we typically hear … the only reason it’s a story this time is a chance to put the boot into Wests Tigers for clicks and views …

Mate 😂🤨, everyone is according to you .. I like to really focus on on field performance when I judge my footy players , choir boys are good for choir, I’m over losing every week and we need to sign some players based on their rugby league playing performance and not how their politically correct off field behaviour measurement statistics are Perceived,, CANCELLING people for life from Rigby League is Un Australian 🇦🇺

I don't know. He has now been added to the team line up on the website and Manly signed Chee-Kam yesterday. Not sure there are any other options for Bateman in Sydney (which is apparently where he wants to be).

Read is good mates with Richo, he won't be the one to name them unless Richo has an agenda and actually wants him to leak it.

I think you are right in that I don't think it is uncommon for players to be breaching agreed standards with their fitness/weight when coming back for preseason training.

Exactly … one reason why that part of the story smells a bit … why only two of the five I wonder ? Did they come back really fat ?

I also think it’s unusual for players to front the board over warnings ..maybe Julie and The Wig havent got enough going on at the moment ,,

But we've blooded players because we had absolutely no one else due to appalling roster management across all grades.
The kids didn't earn their promotions. They were given them. Which creates a horrible culture of entitlement, rather than creating a culture of having to work hard to get ahead.

some of them absolutely had it handed to them, but I think they're the ones that likely won't be a part of our future moving forward.

the ones that I believe did earn it – Galvin, Da Silva, Bula and Samuela – trained the house down. ideally you would've wanted them to have spent a bit more time in the lower grades, but their attitude is top shelf. Sione Fainu was the same. those are the guys I'm talking about.
