The Wests Tigers are on the verge of landing another huge signing with Sydney Roosters forward Terrell May expected to join the club.
May was given permission by the Roosters to explore his options on the open market and immediately attracted interest from the Tigers, St George Illawarra and the Bulldogs.
It is understood the Bulldogs withdrew their interest at the weekend, leaving the Tigers in the box seat to sign May given his close association with star recruit Jarome Luai.
May and Luai toured England recently with the Samoan team and it is understood Luai has been working in the background to help secure May’s signature.
Tigers coach Benji Marshall pitched his plans for May to the Samoan prop late last week and it is understood chief executive Shane Richardson tabled a lucrative deal, which is expected to hold sway over the Dragons.
It helps when our CEO has solid media contacts rather the previous administration who leaked like a sieve.
There will still be the tiger bashers as we are easy targets but winning changes everything.
Hopefully true, next move on the chess board is to free up at least 2 more spots.
Sione + one in the back pocket.
Hetherington would be nice if Hunt is a realistic target for the Broncos.
I still believe though Doueihi will be elsewhere round 1, is a stop gap for clubs like the Dragons, Roosters or Broncos. 2nd prize pending the Hunt situation.
