That sounds to me like EXACTLY what's happening mate.

Seems as though Richo will hold out as long as possible until they're able to finally move a couple on or, they will simply buy out a couple.

My prediction is that we'll free up three more by trial time. With one going to Sione.

I expect Bateman (at least) to go, Saukuru and Tumeth to be bought out.

I don't think we can actually afford to lose both Sullivan and Doueihi. Both of whom there has been plenty of chat about.

Why? You don’t think we have enough cover in the halves to lose both? Luai and Galvin are locked in, and we have Fainu as backup. And Bird can fill a 5/8 role if required, as could Mason. If you kept one of Sullivan or Douehi it would be Douehi. At least he has utility value. But I think we could manage without both.

I don’t know about you , but I don’t see Tartak sitting by idly twiddling his thumbs now that he has been officially told that he has “misread” the previous expectations of a Top 30 spot being on offer .., I would in fact expect him to be aggressively shopping him now elsewhere… first stop our friends at Manly who always have room for one more ex-Tiger

But apparently they don’t have a roster spot open either, which is why the Bateman proposed move has stalled. Dragons would be more likely I reckon. They need a middle and they clearly have roster spots.

Bateman won't ever see the training gear, this is a game of brinksmanship. All parties know its just a matter of who blinks first.

Because having more full time halves cover is better than not.

If we lose both, we only have Latu, who's coming off 2 x 80 min games in the last 12 months and has already returned underdone.

Bird can cover at a pinch, but is not genuine halves cover.

Best case scenario if we lose both, if Luai is on origin duty, is Latu and Galvin, two 19 year olds, one of which is still trying to get his body right, trying to lead a side around that is attempting to climb up the ladder.

If there is at least a Bud or Adam to call on in desperate times, which hopefully we don't have, then things feel a little more secure.

Well

We know why we did not snare them.

The Dogs are chasing both Ben Hunt and potentially Mullet Pap's for Fullback.

As is Easts, St George seems to be still open for Pap's too. Doubt they will go that way with the Fullback stock they have.
