Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's a pathological contrarian, loves the attention —
he's admitted 2 it several times. It's not about what's
being argued, it's the attention he garners from holding
an opposing view all the time. One of the characters
on here, he's alright with me though. Makes me laugh
What in Gods name are you talking about? Often on here, the contrarian belief is the correct one, as the majority are trained seals who go all in on blind faith. I stood by my belief we’d struggle this season despite being told how negative I was. And guess what happened, by round 10, everyone came around to my POV. Nothing special from me. I just didn’t get caught up in blind faith and “In Benji we trust” rubbish. A truly cursed phrase btw. I mean, how many times do you have to watch the same movie before you stop thinking it will have a different ending. I know this club too well. So do others, but denial is a powerful emotion sometimes.

LOL I think you are wanting a reaction because you often put out a contrarion view that you know people will respond to, then can't actually engage in any meaningful discussion about it... probably because you don't actually believe it
Tell me when my contrarian views have been wrong? Give me an example.

OK. Lets start with Richo is no better than previous admin. Can you expand on that point a little bit?
Criticising previous admin for signing players with ridiculous clauses, yet doing the same. Not being up front with supporters. Not realising by now Benji has no clue what he’s doing. What else you got?

And FTR, I really have no dog in the fight regarding new admin vs old admin. But until we start getting on field results, I really don’t know how you can proclaim the new guard are any better.

Can we wait until at least round 10 this year before
we all realise you were right again GNR? The nerve lol.
There is a difference between having blind faith and
faith, you already know that, you're a clever dude...
I'd rather build than destroy, a cup half full kinda guy

What I’m saying now has nothing to with results in 25, as I’m a little more optimistic than I was last year. I’m sorry that I think the Luai news is a downer. I’m surprised by how many people are cool with it.

As many people have pointed out, the clause isn't ridiculous and there are many top line players who have similar clauses. It sounds like the clause was requested by Luai. If that is the difference between signing and not signing him, what would you do? You would have sacked Benji at the end of last year? What do you think the consequences of that might have been? One thing for sure is it would have been an absolute circus in the off season and very unlikely we land May.

I think Richo's resume and respect in the game probably speaks for itself doesn't it? I think just about anyone who has any clue could identify Richo is better at his job than Pascoe.

Let’s all be honest

This sucks so hard

It’s a sh’t position for the club

They’ll be speculation every year about whether luai stays or leaves

Is it worth it by having him instead of him going to the bulldogs - probably

That’s all there is to it

Hahahaha, now Bula's mutual option is a headline. More click bait! Tigers supporters must be really driving up revenue!
It will be interesting now that Bula has signed with Isaac Moses. Moses has both Galvin and Bula possibly coming off contract at the same time.

You said the wooden spoon favourites would be shit, join the club, it doesn’t make anyone special.

It states if we offer Bula at least 900k he has to accept it. If he is not worth 900k by 2027, then we probably don't want to keep him anyway.

Not sure who keeps leaking the clauses though. I would have thought Moses leaked this one, but Luai's must have come from somewhere else.

That’s pretty offensive . Calling people trained seals like you’re the oracle ? You don’t even know anything about the game .
Just bitching constantly .
I take offense to your bullshit . Imagine thinking being the contrarian all the time over everything is a good thing ! It just makes you a punish .
The arrogance to even validate your existence that way .
You’re confusing pragmatism and the critical thinking with perpetual disagreement as some kind of virtue .
Hot tip ! It’s absolutely not ! Sometimes , in fact most times I’ve found that irrational confidence in something or someone makes all the difference . You can almost will something into existence .
Being a perpetual Daria is hardly an awesome to get about your existence .

So because many people point it out, it makes it right?

Maybe so. But given the success of the Storm and Bellamy, I can’t imagine too many reasons why Can Munster would quit the club. Plus, these clauses of other players don’t seem to be broadcasted in the media.

I would have signed him. I just wish the club would have been up front.

Absolutely I would have. He’s completely out of his depth. He was appointed for PR purposes

We could have signed an established coach for one thing
One thing for sure is it would have been an absolute circus in the off season and very unlikely we land May.
Why would have signing an established coach been a circus. And besides, Luai is what got us May. So it would have been a non factor in relation to his signing imo.

He has a great resume. However, I can rattle off 20 individuals, be they players, coaches or admin whose careers went backwards coming to our club. How was Madge’s record before he came. Premiership winning coach. Came here, failed and supporters ran him out on a rail. Since he left, he’s won an Origin series and got appointed coach at one of the competition’s glamour club’s. This club does funny things to people.

It just shows you lack any ability to apply logic. Nobody in history has recruited a four-time back to back premiership winning five eighth. It’s literally unheard of. It’s what success looks like as an administrator.
