Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Richo will only hang around if HBG don’t fck it up

I think Richo came in at the last minute

Hard to steer negotiations after they’ve already started

The proof in Richo will be extending galvin

Mind you Richo is top handful of administrators in the game

Not many have taken 3 clubs to premierships and a 4th to a GF

But he’s dealing with a sh*t club

When you’ve got people like julie Romero and burgess blonde wig guitar coach as your bosses - with Lee ego maniac Ferrari driving 6yr old level let me show you what I got from santa for Xmas a new hat … and then Justin dopey loser Ricky gervais from the office still leaking to the media and then Benji I like to have fun Weeeeeee let’s all play in the sand box but also like I’ll dob you into the board if you aren’t serious …

I mean Richo is on a hiding to nothing with this club

Benji was more interested in bringing back the 2005 jersey and dropping a “sick” TikTok than brining spew buckets for the players to vomit up hard work and eat some steel.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Richo is doing his best with the good ship Lolly pop
Yes this is my point also...itll take a huge effort to lift us out of the bog. The good news is that we do have a handy roster, capable of maybe even reaching the top 8 in 2025. Theres big question marks over everything else though and thats where my interest lays

Actually, I watch every game. Statistics can be interpreted any way you like.

I will suggest the reason Bula gets so many runs is because opposition teams mostly kick to him because they want him returning the ball on play 1. Because he is lithe he often gets pushed back in contact and it sets our opposition up very well for their defensive set a poorly sets up our attacking set.

Upon reflection, I shouldn’t have said I would be “happy” if Bula left. I should have said I’d be “indifferent” if he left. I believe you could replace his output with a player costing significantly less than what we are paying Bula.

Anyway, I hope he grows and succeeds with our club given the importance of the fullback position in today’s game.
How much smaller is he than Hodgson in 2005?

There’s no positive at all to him leaving. I’ve read comments like “If he leaves after two years than he’s obviously not done his job”. Seriously? If a half coming off four consecutive premiership wins comes here and fails, it says more about the club than the player. Especially when you look at the long list of players that have come here in the past and failed. Luai would just be a new low. And idk where the club would go if he doesn’t work out. We’ll see though.
JL has already played a valuable part for the 2 years. Now it’s up to the club to capitalise. JL will only go if the club fails. Not a reflection of himself. He will play his part and then some. Leaving would not be a reflection of himself. Will be more so if the club and the team. If everyone else put in what he says we will win 2 comps in his time here. It simple as that. The rest is just excuses.

I was with you until you said much has changed since he signed. We got another spoon We’ve made a couple good signings. But nothing changes until we start winning games. Surely everyone knows better by now than to go off early, claiming whole heartedly that we have finally turned the corner before the results even come.
I was referring to when he signed we didn’t have Turuiva, hunt, Skelton, Bird and May. Plus the emergence of Galvin. A lot has changed.

Have not entered into the countless posts on Luai’s contract clause to now because I do not see anything sinister in it. I just see it as a clause that allows an elite player the opportunity to re value himself in two years. It’s all about money more than a free get out of jail card

Don’t Moses and Brown’s Contracts have some similar year by year ability to leave? How do Parra fans feel about having both their high paid halves with that hanging over the club for many years to come?
But why aren’t they a big deal now though? Shit hit the fan with Stefano’s clause?

Its called getting invested in the rebuild you have to have some hope the club will turn things around otherwise what's the point?

Turning things around includes effective recruitment, so it's a tick in the first box.

If anyone hasn’t watched the Terrell May Bye Round Interview episode with James Graham then I highly highly RECOMMEND you watch it! Such a real inspirational human being! 🔥🔥🔥 I would be ready to run through a brick wall if Terrell May was my teammate! 🫡

Four quotes really stood out to me:

1. “My mindset every year is if I don’t win a PREMIERSHIP RING I have failed. People say it’s about making the Top 8. My mindset is to WIN that’s it!”

2. “I’m here at the Tigers to lead the fitness drills, win every wrestling session. It’s all about winning for me, not the paycheck”

3. “I’m ready to play 80 mins every week. My fitness can match up with any player in the comp. The longer the game goes the better I get”

4. “I’m ready to die on the field if it means I haven’t let down my people (fans, family, teammates, club) down. I will go even when I’m fatigued until my legs stop moving.”

If this interview doesn’t pump you up nothing will. Bro is also running a 42km marathon in December and a month into the 75HARD fitness program. Already lost 7 kgs and in incredible shape.

Where you watch? It’s not released yet

Bula is not a small fullback by any measure!

He is lean and lanky at 1.87m tall and was reported to be 91kg at the start of 2024.

By comparison Hodgo was a diminutive 1.75m tall and 78kg wringing wet!

Reece Walsh is 1.78m and 89kg...

Thought so. Size not an issue. Issue in the past has been those around him. Well fortunately there have been some great changes and no doubt more to come. Then we will see what he can do. We also now have a full spine of 4, critical to success if you have the right forwards ie something I have not witnessed in the past 10 years. So in reflection probably the spoons were well deserved, in all honesty. But 2025 now we are talking. Different level, we now resembling an NRL team. In the past few years we would have struggled in KOE Cup.

Because we are a targeted club due to so poor results , poor board , poor management , poor pretty much everything , Munster has a similar clause as Luai , you don’t hear about the Munster contract , why cause Melbourne are all positive vibe , us , we sneeze and a outbrake of flu is our fault , they sweat n us for anything that brings news hits , top players all have similar ones , Munster , Moses , Brown etc etc , just shit jernos mate , If we move up the ladder 5 spots or even ,are the 8 Luai goes nowhere , he will stay and be the Wests Tigers leader

There are risks to club and players with every contract - more so with 5 year contracts.
You are either a half glass full or half glass empty - time will tell who is right and no doubt they will be crowing about it either way.
I see it similarly, it was a bold and calculated move to boost the squad and it’s already paid dividends with our recruitment & retention. While the clause does add an element of uncertainty, it’s a clear statement of intent and still sets the groundwork for a more competitive, balanced team capable of competing at the top level.

Hopefully May and Luai stay their time and even extend and lead us to glory days
