Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Any word on David Klemmer anywhere , was all over the sport news last week but since Friday nothing , if he is still with us would he be in your 17 this week , I would have him in and starting with May , you can’t have a player like him sitting in the crowd waiting for a new club , he is better than both Kitt and Sione and if I had to pick out of Klemmer and Twally I would take Klemmer he is great in defence and just keeps going .
Hunt , Pole , Twall on bench
Sam F , Bird , Seyfarth Backrow
Agreed.
We need to look at moving Bird to the front row and till he is ready, we need to use Klemmer...

Not saying Klemmer is our nr2 Prop. I am saying most teams field 4 props and he is in our top 4 and Props really need to hit and hit hard.
Ofcourse if Sione or Kitt pushes him out, he can go... But were getting thinner in the front row then I really want to be.

Particularly when we also had two other players, nearly 3 walk out as well. It’s always the players fault to some. If one of these new signings doesn’t work out and God forbid has a falling out with the club, it will be his fault too.
That’s nothing but a nasty little rumour. Who are the two? Ice? He was told he wasn’t in future plans, found himself a new club and asked for an early release which the club granted. Steph? There’s no bad blood there between he and the club. You laying groundwork for something?

JOffa was the first to leave after a conflict with Marshall.
Klemmer was rumoured to have had issues with Marshall before his form dropped mid last year and now leaving/being pushed out.

I agree there is no bad blood between Steph and the club, but it was clear that Steph wasn't buying into what the club were selling him. Not just because he decided to leave but he also obviously mentally checked out early.
Similarly, yes your version of events for Papallii is accurate but the real question is why wasn't he in the plans?
Anyhow, bad blood or not, they both walked out. It may be for the better, we don't yet know.

It is fair to say that all 4 above plus Bateman weren't performing to their price tag and that is why Marshall took issue with them.

It is equally fair to say that all 4 players had previously played to a level that earnt them that contract value and question why Marshall couldn't have them perform at that level.

Unless/until Marshall gets results with 'his team' he will be questioned.

These guys haven’t performed to their contract value, all are now gone and these decisions are celebrated on here…yet,
The coach who also hasn’t performed is excused. That’s not how things traditionally work.

You nailed it with this bit:

“It is fair to say that all 4 above plus Bateman weren't performing to their price tag and that is why Marshall took issue with them.”

The rest is a nasty little rumour. Plenty of journos about to do that sort of dirty work.

Why weren’t they performing?

I'm sorry to raise the Roosters...rumour doing the rounds that they have been sprung on the cap cheating. They have agreed to stay under the cap as punishment in what is essentially a plea deal to keep their breach hush hush.

I laughed when I heard this. However, look at their ins and outs....anything is possible. I had it on much better authority that they were paying out club owners to lose any cc footage of their stars on the gear ages ago.

Anything bad for them, its my duty to spread. Truth comes second.

Who's chicken are you trying to choke, ? ya yanker .lol

So I mean tbh I think we panicked and over paid them to secure their signatures. Don’t disagree with your wider point though.

Big year for the club regardless and my god do we need to sign a back rower ASAP. Almost negligent how thin we are in that position.
Any one over 30's in their working life has seen it in their place of work .New management come in n put a broom thru the joint. Over priced old deals? just don't cut it anymore when management decides to trim the fat. Its not really about your work rate - its more about towing the line on an adjusted price that is suitable to the new direction their bold statements tell you their heading towards

No.
It’s still relevant.
That’s bullshit . That’s been reclassified recently . I’m the same age as Benji, and most of my friends used to be obsessed with being classified gen X , and just scraped in as at the time it was 84. Late gen X early gen y was the go .
There’s no way you can classify someone born in 94 as the same generation as 84 . That’s stupid , and recently be recategorised that way .
For example my age group was the last to grow up without internet , discovering the net when we were early teens like 14 and 15 with thing like Mirc and ICQ . Things that were long gone by the time someone who was born 10 years later would have been the same age . That’s an easy one . Because it’s soo obvious .
