re Large and other talent in our system.
Honestly what does a club Junior mean now?
More then that, what does it mean to us.
I mean lets assume we sign the next Nathan Cleary, 300k for 3 years. They get unhappy and a greedy manager, they know they will be something and look for a better offer. Sure we may get the first opportunity to sign them for 1m..
Heck we even keep this remarkable talent, what then? Do they develop the best here, or Languish?
If we did have the next DCE or Thurston here, Would they actually develop or if they went to Bennett or Bellamy, would they then be the next big thing?
It just seems totally different to the time of Chris Lawrence. Even then he and Nofu are the only juniors to remain signed for their career. Particularly Halfbacks, it's probably better they learn under a few different coaches....
TLDR, if we are going to break the bank, why not keep a Center or forward at the club.

We don't need Brooks because a Luai/Fainu halves combination will serve WTs well. Brooks cannot be faulted for his loyalty to WTs. Moses, Tedesco and Woods pissed off. Galvin wants to follow them out the door. A little loyalty goes along way. especially if you are a kiddie in Sydney's South West who supports WTs.
No mate, brooks is anything but clutch.
He is a very talented player but not a good leader or decision maker.
Anyway, He's at another club now

We on here have been saying that for months but it appears that Richo and benji think we don’t need a backrower , other clubs have added players in that position , our back 3 in the forwards never made a break last week , the dogs have added 3 backrowers and they have heaps in that position, how hard would it be to offer one of them a starting spot rather than sitting in. NSW cup

But also very high in the missed tackle department - which is the point.
He’s benefitting greatly by playing next to one of the last true 7s we’ve got in the game . That guy is about to announce he’s on the fair well tour , so it will remain to be seen how Brooks has developed since then . Still not our zoo , not our monkeys.

Penrith have been similar, higher than you'd expect missed tackles but scramble like no other.

It is the effort plays that make the difference and why the pre season camp should be of benefit to our guys. We went hard early and dropped off last week, it doesn't happen overnight but the signs are there that we are about to turn the corner.

no I will be disappointed, not as disappointed as when tedesco left but it will be a big hit for the club.

Poor wording on my part. It is not usual for a team to have a good against record and a high missed tackle rate. I was referring to their tackle effectiveness as opposed to their points against. My apologies.

They must be extremely fit to manage that over a whole year.. They had a good season bar their finals campaign

STEPPING INTO THE SEVEN FURNACE
On Sunday, coincidently, he’s up against a player who knows a fair bit about the pressure and requirements of stepping up from deputy to sheriff, Jarome Luai.
Last Friday, Luai’s Wests Tigers debut performance received mixed reviews. There was certainly plenty of ring rust, but I saw enough to believe he will be every bit the player the Tigers need him to be in 2025.
Creatively, he was almost operating solo, without the man with whom he will form the strongest, most important combination, hooker Apisai Koroisau.
Lachlan Galvin went in and out of the contest, a young six still finding his NRL legs. But there’s no doubt that halves combination will develop quickly.
Luai was strong in the first half, setting up the Tigers’ only try and saving one.
In the second half, playing behind a pack which had lost its superiority in yardage, his impact lessened and a kick error of a matter of inches gave the Knights a seven-tackle set, which led to them scoring a crucial try on their way to a 10-8 victory.
In coming weeks, Luai will have the Tigers looking like a completely different team.

While the stats say the Tigers missed 68 tackles, they only conceded two tries.
I was really impressed with their defensive attitude, signalling a significant lift in desire. While the defensive energy was there, individual technique and communication contributed to the Tigers missing vital tackles in the second half which cost them victory
With Koroisau and fullback Jahream Bula returning on Sunday, expect a performance which will give Tigers supporters a surge of optimism.

we're rightly apprehensive given all the false dawns in seasons past, but I sense that once this team begins to string a few wins together that these experts will be proven correct.
No consideration for the Break Away Try Saving tackle Moses made before all that?

Yeah maybe. And really you and I should not be “ feuding “ about it .. obviously we both are rather strong fans of West’s tigers and really just want success and our good players to stay .. I guess you feel you are getting out front of it emotionally or something which you are entitled to ,, I just tire of reading about it but perhaps should not let it get to me to the point that I criticise you for it … 🤝. Mate ,, let’s just hope for a big win this weekend over the Eels ..
