Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They just released Will Pryce who was on a fair bit of coin. Frizell would be a good option, the other one who could become available is Adam Elliott.
A few players who are a bit off the radar at their current clubs and would add 'depth' to our roster in the middle & edge are Fletcher Baker (off contract), Jacob Host (off contract), Wiremu Greig (off contract), Harrison Hassett (off contract) & Blake Lawrie (contracted '26). There have been rumours previously about Hassett & Lawrie with us.

Before anyone goes off about these suggestions, I reiterate the word 'depth' which we need if the $$$ are suitable. Someone like Greig may need a fresh start, can provide impact and has decent tackle efficiency. He is currently better than any of our Cup props.

Hassett has been good to start the season in NSW cup, he would be an upgrade on Sukkar.

A bit more left field our former player and Balmain junior Henry O’Kane has kept at it after being let go by us, is now starting for The Rabbitohs NSW Cup Team and produced very good stats over the weekend.
He is a big body and very mobile for his size, but was a defensive liability when with us. Without actually seeing him play, I highly doubt he would still be in any NSW Cup system unless his defence has improved as it often does for young players in their early 20’s. I’d be keeping a close watch on his progress.
Dean Matterson also produced some good stats over the weekend playing edge back row for the Sea Eagles in NSW Cup. A few years younger than his brother, he has a fair bit of class with ball in hand and would be a very handy back up for us.
Aaron Schoupp also currently with the Sea Eagles has outstanding stats every time he plays NSW Cup, played plenty of good games at NRL level for the Bulldogs a few seasons back and is stuck behind quite a few outside backs at Manly, he would be much closer to NRL game time with us. He’s an extremely powerful ball runner who also excelled playing a few games in the back row at Qld Cup kevel last season, even if we sign Taylan May I’d still be trying to add him and he would be very handy for us right now. Maybe offer Manly their own local junior Josh Feledy in return ?

Frizzel is frizzled!
Going on 34
But better than any of our back ups atm...but for how long?
As always.at that age .they want this year and 2 more, which just ties us down to mediocrity
If we cld ger 1 yr after this year,it gives us time and space to get a good long term fit
Gotta balance our immediate needs(of which there are many) vs long term
At WTs...long term is next season!Maybe this season...

Jerome Luai suspended for one week.
comes to West Tigers four weeks later he is suspended, no waiting at WEST TIGERS.
Here's my theory, Jerome cops a week which I think we all pretty much think is fair. He got penalised and a week off, fair enough. Then there's this bull💩 of Sayfarth getting no suspension for the same thing, now the N.R.L line is a penalty was sufficient. That is crap. If the penalty is sufficient for shoulder contact to the head then it must go hand in hand with a week off. The match review committee didn't cite him claiming a penalty was sufficient for contact with the head using his shoulder, the real truth to it all is they saw what we all did, the Warriors player ran into him and his head hit his shoulder as an incidental impact, they didn't cite him because they know it wasn't a penalty, cause if they believed there was enough for a penalty they're obligated to protect the players head and suspend him for a week as has been mandated by the N.R.L the past 3 years. The fact he didn't cop a 1 game suspension proves to me like alot of others that watched that game live that it was never a penalty in the first place and was just part of a contact sport. A non penalty infront of the sticks that gifted 2 points to the Warriors and was the difference. I know May bombed a try and we still should have won, irrespective it doesn't make these stupid decisions that determine games any more right. Sorry about my rant, I'm still fuming with the ref last night, he's the ref you get when you order one from wish.

Top 8 is always the goal
Got a feeling our retention and recruitment (former to placate Benji)will burn us for a bit longer
I have no idea why we rid ourselves from proven internationals without having a back up plan
Not the way it works
We're playing much better, our defence is better out of sight, apart from May, Pole and Hunt we were being monstered by their forward pack last night, we were pretty much playing on the back foot for much of the game in terrible conditions, we held them out time and time again. The scoreline of 26 points against us doesn't do us justice for just how well we performed last night. Douhi gone before kick off, Turuva off with hia and there was another injury, think it was Fainu gone, we were at times working with a bench rotation of one player, players on the pitch playing out of position, playing from the back foot, warriors being allowed to dominate and niggle in the ruck and we realistically still win that game if May doesn't drop the ball over the line, or if Sayfarth doesn't obstruct the Warriors player when Bula went over, mind you that player who dived never would have stopped the try anyway. This Tigers team in one off-season with the players we've brought in are better out of sight from the teams of the last 6 or 7 years. We lack depth, once that's sorted were flying. Even guys we pan like Faatape and Toa made a few errors, but really put in and have improved, were on a massive upward trajectory. My only gripe with last night interms of our team is Benji needs to tell Galvin to pick his moments and not grab the ball just for the sake of grabbing the ball, but Galvins only a pup and he will learn from all this.

If the risk of challenging Seyfarth's fine is only risking an extra $500, then is it worth going ahead with it to try and prove a point?

My gut feeling is NO because if he won it would be proof that the penalty that decided the game should not have been awarded which would open up a can of worms which is why there is no chance that the challenge would have a chance of succeeding.
