Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Smith and Young out and they bring DCE in is very good business from them.

Young on 200k based on the media story with Roosters paying the difference effectively immediate is very good business. I wouldn’t have any issues if he joined us on that price.

At the very least a good back up - certainly better than Naden or most others we have as back up.

I just don’t see how he fits in with the hard working supporting your team mate culture we’re trying to build. I reckon Romey would eat him alive in terms of expectation to standards.

Genuine game breaker on his day, but the question is how many days a season would his next club get from him.
Spot on, the lack of cohesion with the culture we are building is a big reason why I think it is highly unlikely he ends up with us.

What's people's thoughts on Fletcher Baker for some middle forward depth. He looked like he was developing into a really good player at Easts before it just not working for him in Brisbane. He's still pretty young and wouldn't break the bank.
I like it, talented kid. As far as building a better pack it would be great if they were targeting Hetherington or Paikura from the donkeys, maybe Wong from the Rorters or Fermor from the holiday strip for 26... As far as FR goes we are a bit light on right now, Parra shopping Greig at the moment who would add some strength in rotation. Id be keeping tabs on Sorensen and Geyer also. Chat around Fafita, yeah another Dave Taylor IMO and would he put in the work?

For the right price yes, but not if we are paying anywhere near 1 million dollars per season.
Personally I’d take a risk on him getting back to somewhere near his best for up to 600k, but I’d say it’s highly unlikely that the Titans would be chipping in 400k

I don’t want him at that price either … but I’ll bet you that he ends up getting paid that much … The issue is that there are two desperate teams about to enter the competition that need to build a team from scratch and either of them will pay him and take the risk that they can get the best out of him

Thought he was good at Easts and from memory we were in discussions with him before he went to Brisbane. Haven’t watched much of him since.

Looks bog average when I've seen him for the broncos decent depth nothing more

You could argue that the two high profile edge back rowers that appear to be available in David Fifita and Kai Pearce-Paul would form a much better and much more dangerous edge back row combination than what we currently have.
So do we sit back and potentially let the Perth Bears sign them both, or do we take a chance on improving our team and sign one of them ?
