Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Dom Young and KPP certainly both fit the physical profile of what we would be after. They both have some pretty glaring deficiencies in their game though, particularly Young.

Also pretty funny that Roosters are now chipping in part of Young’s salary for him to play at the club he was originally at anyway haha knights do well out of that
Their recent recruitment / development of purchases has been quite poor.

Yep...
And we'd have to continue to pay Bud to play elsewhere on top of him and his wages.

Like signing 3 Fainus to get a little something out of 1-2 of them.
It won't happen Richo so far has made good decisions with recruiting, just signing Tyrone to keep his brother happy wouldn't sit with him, he's smarter than that.

Currently paying Luai, Latu & Sullivan starting halves money.

Galvin is likely moved on.

Doueihi is a better fit in the centres but CAN cover halves.

Mason is promising but not to be relied on.

Bud is likely moved on if possible.

So, on around $200k or so (lower end costs at least) a player like Tyrone May serves a purpose as cover in the halves (not as bad as some would like to make him out to be) while also offering versatility to play a little centre, #13 or even as #14.

He has been good in the ESL, in their top team.

Teaming up the brothers makes sense as all 3 of them have indicated they would like that. If we have the premier prop in the game at good coin, plus one of the better centres in the game on a reduced value due to off field issues & then have our back-up halves player as a reduced value deal to be with his brothers/ return to the NRL/ redeem himself in the public domain....it makes sense both on the field & against the salary cap.

The money saved getting Tyrone & Taylan can then be put into a top line back row option.

All I'm saying is the majority of people in Sydney travel for their job and it's really not that much of an issue. I highly doubt the majority of tigers players live in a 15 minute vicinity of concord..
Ha yeah im with ya here, takes an eternity to get anywhere from the Northern Beaches though.
Who wants to cross the bridge anyways LOL... Especially if its to Bondi.

Richo and the club should be announcing the new signings he mentioned on James Graham's pod in the next week or so, he should be back from the wedding in England over the weekend, maybe an announcement early next week. Not sure if the new additions are depth signings or established first graders. Imo though If they were only depth signings why even bring it up on the pod. They must be first grade quality.
I’m not getting my hopes up. One year we were told to expect new signings and they were women.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

If Young wants to be a centre, I'd definitely consider him. Need to find the balance between not blocking Makasini but also not relying on him as an 18 year old.

At less than 400k replacing Naden with Roosters chipping in seems like good business to me.

If we had first choice of
2. Skelton
3. Young
4. To'a
5. Turuva

with Makasini, Laulilli and possibly Doeuihi there for depth we could let Feledy, Faatape, Naden all go and be in a much better position.

Initially I thought we don't need another winger but I'm warming to it if he can make a centre.

I'd prefer a someone who has played centre, that's better than every centre we have. Taylan will do. I definitely don't want to sign Young as a centre
