Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

no to hopgood for me
certainly not in a swap for galvin for 2026
I disagree. Now is the time to investigate with the Eels. Whilst he is a bit 'off' his best - maybe injury-related or maybe coaching related - the Eels may be willing to release for Galvin & Hopgood may be interested in a different system. If he has a close relationship with Luai & Turuva from Panthers days, it may be realistic.

I agree, Hopgood was good for the Eels last year, was even talked about being a SOO option for QLD. He has dropped off this year for some reason. We all know Galvin wont see out his contract till end of 2026. I'd take him and maybe a good junior in a swap for Galvin...

Would like the Tigers to go for Cobbo, Grant Andersen from the storm and sign a big decent edge backrower. On another note, Heighton was not the smartest person on the field, what does he provide to the Team ? I read some comments that were said, and apparently the younger players were not happy.
What comments and where did you read them?

if we are pushing parramatta make them give us lomax for galvin
we can do better than hopgood
Put May to 13 and go get another prop or put twal in the prop rotation

i reckon he is a decent player, but I wouldn’t be swapping Gal, or breaking the bank for him, and I don’t reckon he’s what we need before June 30. But if he was keen to move then I would throw a bid in.
happy to get hopgood if he moves on his own accord but not for galvin in in 2026
A backline of
1. bula
2. turuva
3. Taylan May
4. Lomax
5. Skelton
6. Luai
7. Reynolds

Pretty sickening gould last night with moses gallen and cam smith...when the question was put to moses by weedler about how they replace dylan brown...galvins names mentioned and theyre all nudge nudge wink winking laughing and giggling about it
Its only on national tv theyre talking about anti tampering and breaching rules in a supposedly professional national sport but it just makes a mockery of the whole game
If you allow pieces of sh.it to be the mouthpieces of the game, the game will be a piece of S.hit

may has done everything the club has asked of him before entertaining a deal

its honestly in our court now , ill be very bummed if it doesnt happen

has converted to islam also, has had a few chats with SBW also

we need talent take the [This word has been automatically removed]ing risk shane

Appreciate the info but what religion he is surely is neither good or bad, i don't see how that makes him a better or worse prospect for us?

Should put some effort into bringing Tom Cant across from the Knights. Tough bugger and has been impressive in his NRL showings this season.
Under rated player, but I think he’s in the Knights long term plans.
Not a priority signing, but one I think would be very handy as a back up and potential to play 7 for us if his form is strong enough is Tannah Boyd.
He is contracted with the Warriors for the next couple of years, but will only get an opportunity too play NRL for them if there are 2 injuries as Te Maire Martin is their first halves back up,
With the likely departure of Galvin he is a natural controlling halfback with a good kicking game, good goal kicker and would compete with Latu Fainu for a starting NRL position with us.

Wasn't Luai bought here to be half ?
he was, but as far as I'm aware he's not particularly worried about what number's on his back, he just wants to be 'Batman'.

Reynolds would take up his old role at Souths where he played second fiddle to Walker if he were to come across you would think.

. The game is turning players into mercenaries with little or no allegiances other than which jersey they wear at the time and their hip pocket and fans and clubs will be at the mercy of managers wheeling and dealing with their prized commodities.
It's becoming less and less a game for the people and just a money spinner for all the stake holders.

This is a common trait in other professional leagues I follow - the American sports and the EPL…. No reason to think the NRL would be immune ..

I do agree with your points about Gould - this should not be permitted by the NRL admin

Reynolds is not your man for a team trying to get off the bottom of the ladder - and especially more so now at this point of his career. He is at his best as a front runner and when in a team getting pummeled will spend more time hurt than contributing.
I disagree.

Reynolds is exactly the type of organiser a rebuilding side needs. Having a steering wheel is one of the first pieces. The Dogs only kicked on, for example, when they landed on Sexton being their short to mid-term solution.

The past weekend aside, this club has barely put together a solid 80 minutes this year, with one of the major criticisms being direction as the combinations figure themselves out.

Adam Reynolds at the right price (6/700k) for a year, will kick you around the field. Will take the pressure off Jarome's kicking game and would turn most 4's into 6's. It would provide a default 1st gear for when the side is lost in games and, instead of going backwards, you could lean on Reynolds to march the forwards downfield and find some space with the kick.

It's not the worst idea.
