Yeh he isIs Tony Sukkar still on a development contract?
We need to fill roster spots by June 30, don’t have much of a choice sadlyWe’re 3 points away from 17th and doing that will get us a lot closer.
Richo will at the very least be working overtime to bring in a decent external recruit before June 30 not only for their immediate impact but also for club optics. Hopefully both Taylan May & KPP.Think we may promote one or two internal guys to top 30 this year like:
- Krystian Mapapalangi
- Izaac Tu’itupou
- Jaxson Rahme
- Elie El-Zakhem
- Kurt Falls
Or alternatively our development guys to top 30 for these guys on a dev contract. Don’t rule out any external talent tho
No Sukkar is top 30 with a club option for 2026.Yeh he is
I agree. If we are serious about Taylan, you bring him in now so he can gel for the rest of the season.
I don't know how we will go for the remainder of 2025, but we definitely need a smooth 2026 without distractions like this Galvin nonsense.
The point you are missing is the dogs can put players up they are willing to move on, but the player, in that scenario, will go to market and see what offers he can get. Either that, or back themselves to stay and break into the team. One player , the dogs have a surplus of backrowers and Iam sure one would rather be playing 1st grade rather nsw cup , and only 17 can win a medal
crazy I knoware you saying clubs can't just trade players like cattle? Like contracted players have some kind of say
Honestly, I’d offer the money earmarked for Galvin to Papenhuyzen and let him pick if he wants the 7 or 6 jersey. The guy has a high football IQ and the sort of urgency in his game we can only dream about. And he’s a wonderful goal kicker !
Sign a Tony Carroll type to ride shotgun with him in defence and we’re laughing.
Sadly I agree that Api will need to play half-back at times before season 2025 is completed. He is better option than anyone else we have if Latu is still injured.
This is the biggest issue we have with letting players go, we just have zero backup option for them & it hurts us badly.
Meant he was top 30No Sukkar is top 30 with a club option for 2026.
I actually thought that was what we were doing with AD, make him Center... Plonk and stick him there.Doueihi can't be in the side for his kicking alone.
He is a bit of a victim of his versatility. He isn't bad, but doesn't stand out in any one position. He has some good games, but also not a superstar of the league. A bit like Tracey at the Dogs. If a player in their position becomes available to sign, they are the first ones that you would upgrade.
Unless he wants to be an in one week, out the next first grader on 300k a year, he needs to pick his position and master it. Gotta do what's right for the team and all, but he might benefit from 2 seasons in England in his preferred position and come back as a specialist after that. The NRL is short of good lock forwards...if I was him I'd bulk up, get much fitter, learn to tackle and make that position my own.
Kind of insane that we've won 5 and have 12 points from 24 and somehow are still nearly bottom. We’re 3 points away from 17th and doing that will get us a lot closer.
Latu's current injury is a broken finger so hopfully its given the hamstring extra pyhsio time and his ready to launch. Fingers crossed.
Since we was going to be off with a broken thumb anyway they decided to fix his hamstring issues at the same time. The hamstring has taken a bit longer to heal than the thumb. The official Tigers injury report lists his injury as hamstring…

A few of us are speculating that he must have strained the hamstring again whilst he was at the hospital getting his thumb x-rayed …

They operated on it along with the thumb. Not sure how you “fix” a hamstring unless it is strained to begin with ,,,and it’s also harder to predict with as much accuracy when ghat injury will be healed …
They operated on it along with the thumb.
Which is why he’s on the same recovery timeline as Skelton. He had the same hamstring operation. They operated on it along with the thumb.
