Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wish he could “referee” games like the other bloke could
Yeah...his only flaw.

But seriously to answer your question, to have to make a call right now is a bit premature on Tallyn 18 months out from his next contract. He just turned 20. He is neither physically ready, nor fit enough to start for us and play 80.

If my hand is being forced at this very moment, I would rather punt on finding a suitable replacement for Api in 2028 with his cap space freed up than going chips in on a long contract with Da Silva before I'd seen the goods.

I take your viewpoint, but it's just how I feel about it.

I do agree with you that they shouldn’t have to make the call now … but because of the dumb rules they will have to ( or in next couple of months anyway…) …

Personally I think they have made the decision already and are keeping Api… Benji absolutely loves the bloke …

With all this talk about TDS
Has his management at any time asked for a release from his contract ?
Or is this just a reaction from the media and this forum because Galvin has been released.
I think he said he will test the market in November on one of the socials.
The words from his manager are more dire theres more than a hint of ultimatum in it.

I can’t see TDS signing first.
Yeah the problem with that is he either won't sign or sign with a get out clause if Api extends.

The club needs a clear pecking order between Api, TDS, Hayward on who they want to bet on as the best option in 2027 and 2028. I'd be going with TDS as the first choice hooker by then.

Guys Fox is reporting Bulldogs players are not happy about Galvin going there and the way he publicly criticised his coach…. is this why the release and signing is taking so long? Could we see a back flip?
The panthera heritage players already have strong connections, the Samoans all know each other. Their families are friends too. Benji is also pretty popular with our squad leaders.

The other issue is that players are a competitive lot and pretty sensitive. The social pecking order is pretty clear. Bratfink needs to earn respect.

Api and Luai drip with charisma, very influential.

Just on the Wests Tigers Life podcast, I used to listen to it a few years ago and Bechara used to swear incessantly so I stopped listening. Now I’m no prude but in a public pod it was ridiculous.

With all this Galvin and Gus stuff going on I listened to a couple of their pods again and Bechara hasn’t sworn once so someone must have had a word. I also enjoy coach Adel’s narrative, quite interesting insights

I’ve watched all the way through …he still swears a bit… particularly straight after or even during a game… doesn’t really matter to me tbh but I appreciate that there could be kids watching

Whats a bratfink?

He needs to play finals in 26 and 27, and finish in or around the 8 this year. You don’t do that by moving on your best player to accommodate a promising but very green up and comer.

If it’s affiliated with the club that might explain the change in language.

If api can fulfill playing close to what he's playing like now. If I was Benji i'd be
wanting to keep api. Could shorten his coaching career if he loses him. Benji might
struggle to be there at the end of api's current contract the way things are going.

Like Galvin,if TDS doesn't want to be here, he won't.

On the flip side we have Taylin May wanting to be here. His brother wanting him to be here.
Yet we don't seem interested. Go figure. Surely he'd be worth a gamble. Might be good for
team harmony having a playing wanting to be here.

If it was up to me. I'd grab Taylin and be then just focusing on our pack.

Yes it’s improved a lot. Adel’s insights are interesting. Rob’s extremely passionate which boils over on occasions and has created some stirs over the years. I think he’s gotten a little wiser. I sympathize as we’ve had some tough years to work through together as supporters.

We are blessed with all the fan podcasts.

Wests Tigers Faithful is also a cracker while probably not yet as well known. If you haven’t listened to it I can highly recommend it. They did a breakdown of all our juniors the end of last year which I found really enlightening. Once again I think there insights are really interesting.

Tiger Town is also well worth listening too.

Of course there is the Wests Tigers Podcast which I think of as the OG. I’ve listened to every episode and feel they are tapped into the running of the entire organization.
