Anyone on here who would consider Gagai on a 1 year deal for the right money? I know we were burnt with Olam, but Gagai still looks fit, doesn’t seem to have any chronic injuries and puts in a solid shift every week. Good defender. Still has some footwork for an older player. Can create an extra man and put his winger away like any good centre should. Thoughts?

I would give Gagai a 2 year deal (second year club option) to initially partner Starford and mentor Makisini until he's ready. He would be good for culture and is still as reliable as they come despite his age.

He's been pretty decent in the super league. Starting 7 for Hull who are leading the league.

I don't think anyone is talking him up as a starting player but he would be a good option on a cheap deal as a depth player. Can play in the halves, lock, back row and even at 9 if needed.

Good option for roster spot 18-25.

1 May in the club is enough ,at the moment,2nd chances n all , but not here ,not yet

And although I will admit a reluctance as he is around the wrong side of 300 games, Id be happy if we talked to him- also he is a good goal kicker. We need an alternate to Doueihi / Api. He is a professional footballer and has done his job well whatever side he was played for.

I prefer May at prop. While he can play lock, it would take away from his best asset which is his ball running and offloading which creates second phase play. If he was to play the lock role he would need to shift his focus from ball running to ball playing.

I think we would be much better served leaving him at prop and getting an out-and-out ball playing lock with good leg speed. Twal definitely is not a lock, but i believe the reason he is there and not May is that Terrell is just too good at prop to move and lose his running and offloading output.

If anyone should go to lock its Sione... He has the quickest play the balls of all our forwards, has really good leg drive, leg speed and footwork at the line. He also has really good hands and ball playing ability. He just needs to work on his fitness so he can punch out 55-60mins.

Play lock. That would keep Mason at 6. Assuming both continue to show elite first grade qualities

He's not an NRL player, I don't see it at all.

650k seems reasonable and if he doesn't perform its not like another club wouldn't nab him for say 300 - 350k for us to let him go with a year to go on his deal. If we could bottle his devastating form he is capable of he would be an awesome signing, all of a sudden we potentially have a 2nd row the opposition would have nightmares about.
