Isn’t this the kid we rated so highly we named him captain in a trial?
I know, it’s only a trial - but he’s also only a kid and this is his junior club.

Surely 4 months later we still think more of him than this…

Maybe the impatience was showing already and that was the club's attempt to show him we rate him highly and his time will come.

Not that any of us know exactly what's going on but being allowed to talk to other clubs gives you the feeling he's not all in.

- you sign both of them and see a young kid that the club is the best place for him to be and learn. Keep him hungry and get him playing as good as he can, and on the correct path to a long NRL career.

Like every other club does with their good 20 yr olds!!

He will be 37 in 2029… Cameron Smith age …poor old Api might have had a bit more wear and tear

TDS is ‘reported’ to be asking $600,000 would you pay that come Nov 1 for him and at this stage of his career. Maybe not

TDS has asked permission to test the market. Granted. Is he likely to get $600,000. Maybe, but only from a desperate club (Newcastle ??) Canterbury wouldn’t pay those $$$ (at least not on the cap)

Is he likely to be any future teams lead 80 minute hooker. Probably

But TDS has recently admitted he still needs to develop to be an 80 minute player.

TDS and API both have defensive flaws, but API has quality plays that TDS doesn’t at this stage TDS merely relies on speed from dummy half like Liddle does

We may lose a future ‘quality’ hooker in TDS but nothing is guaranteed, could just be another Liddle (a good NRL hooker with flaws) but not at $600,000

Api is still good chance of going to the Bears in 2027. That doesn’t necessarily mean that TDS will stay especially if there is a difference in their perception of TDS’ value.

The reported 600k seems a bit steep at the moment. I’d be comfortable at 450k

If TDS was really that good.I have no doubt we wld lock him in for 2027 ongoing.It wldnt be a conversation
But weve seen Liddle..seen Simpkin seen Cherry ..and several others as supposedly the next "big thing" at hooker...
...and they werent.
