Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wouldn’t at this stage, haven’t seen Makasini play but if he can’t make metres out of yardage, no way you drop Skelton for him.
Skelton is enormous starting our sets on the front door.

Makes meters, dominates the ruck, finds his front. We can’t underestimate the impact the little things in this make in momentum and staring our sets.

1-13: Bula, Turuva, Toa, Tiny, Skelton, Luai, Latu, Pole, Api, Terrell, Samuela, KPP, Twal.

14-19: Mason, Sione, Seyfarth, Hunt. Bird, Sukkar

Backs depth: Luke Luailli, Makasini

Forwards depth: Saukuru, Kit Luailli

That's who has a contract for next year so far except for Tiny but you assume an upgrade if Doueihi has signed with Moses.

Sullivan & Da Silva still officially on the books.

We need a good lock. That would be the main priority I see in the 1-13.

Backs, Forwards & Utilities we are okay.

I think we have 4 or 5 development spots still available for next year. I would suggest Hope, Murray get 2 of the vacancies. That's hooker & middle cover. Maybe we sign a fringe #9 as well if Da Silva does go.

From NSW Cup - Tui'itupou, Mapapalangi & Rahme could get a development/top 30 deal. Staines would be the only other.

Unfortunately not a lot of the market unless someone pushes for a release...

I think whoever we sign externally next will be a #13. Kobe Hetherington could be the next signing given everything happening at the Broncos.
Nice summary there, agree with a lot you say there

need an elite front rower to go with May while Feinu and Pole continue to develop.
We've got 3 gun front rowers in May, Fainu and Pole with Hunt, Twal and Seyfarth also playing there.

We don't need an elite front rower, we need that money elsewhere in the squad. An elite level front rower would screw the cap and leave us with cheap players elsewhere. Not to mention there isn't any elite front rowers available.

We desperately need a top level lock. Thats where the money should be going. Getting that top level lock will help take the pressure off the other middles/props.

100%. The importance of this is even more critical at our club as we get very limited metres from our backrow. Him and Turuva to a small extent make up for the limited impact out backrow offers.

If Doueihi out I'd be targeting Gagai... Upgrade on all areas including goal kicking.

Both him & Taylan May can both play centre & wing.

Skelton could be the depth option.

Looking at NSW Cup the 2 I would re-sign are Staines & upgrade Izzac T.

We have L Luailli as depth as well.

Feledy no.

Faataape maybe NSW Cup but he'll probably wanna go back to Q Cup.

Naden... Interesting one. Also versatile but not NRL standard. Could be a bottom dollar deal for a year as the boys love him.
I'm assuming Douhi has been told his spot is May's. I think once May gets the timing back and kms in the legs he and To'a are our long term centres barring injury. I know May hasn't played in ages but iv no doubt he will offer much more at centre than Douhi. Might take him a few weeks once he gets back to first grade, he will come good.
