Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You would think if ever a team should be playing for there coach it's tomorrow. I've been disappointed with the way benji can get a team up. Even after many consecutive losses they seem to go out with the sane lack luster performance. Tomorrow says a lot abt where we are at . Richo keeps stating we have a team capable of beating anyone. Tomorrow we must win or go close IMO.
Yep..tomrrow is a bit of a dealbreaker for Benji
If were uncompetitive having given away gen next..we look like fools

Funnily enough I also liken him to a bigger, but dopier version of Seyfarth.
It’s a shame as he has the size, aggression and mobility, but his mistakes and regularly giving away penalties and 6 agains is too much of a liability,
I think we need that size investment, regardless of the name. Size, mobility & aggression. We get dominated too often.

Some of the best teams get penalised quite often. The Storm have a never ending supply of "on reports" per game- generally in regard to the same few guys. But those guys bring the attitude & aggression on the field that allows the Storm to dominate. (Think NAS for example). Canberra, Bulldogs, & Broncos are all Top 5 along with the Storm for penalties conceded. Roosters, Sea Eagles & Sharks are also in the top 10.

On average, per game, the Bulldogs, Broncos, Storm & Roosters are Top 4.

Know who is last? Souths.

In fact, NRL.com disagrees with most of the things said about Keppie on here.

Rabbitohs and David Fifita have a mutual agreement that he will sign with the club

If anybody could get the best out of him it would be Bennett
Didn't manage to figure out Josh Schuster.

I don't think Fifita has it in him to be an NRL player. It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to keep yourself mentally and physically up to that standard for weeks, months and years on end and some just aren't built for it.

Dragons beat the top of the table Raiders with a rookie and Kyle Flanagan in the halves. Oh and their main metre eating prop was Klemmer.

I keep hearing how we don’t have the roster to compete and it’s not coaching. I think our roster looks way worse than it actually is because we have a budget footballing department.
we have the same amount of wins as them

I don't see tomorrow as Anything for Benji.

If we pull a miracle win against the dogs I will be impressed. Ofcourse we are going to loose.

If it's by one try or 5. .. Look normally I appreciate a fight adn seeing the guys give it a go.
... Now I am kinda over it. Sorry just feeling burned out as a WT fan.

yeah don’t think it makes much of a difference in terms of benji … pretty hard to see a win

Sorry but that is a totally oversimplified way to run that scenario.

For starters debt rates were not 2% back in 1997. They were around 5%-6%. Secondly, you neglect to mention whether or not there was an overall capital gain on the asset. Thirdly, the asset was sold as shares to the public, so if it did sell at a discount, many Australians are holding that in their superannuation portfolios and reaping those dividends directly along with any capital gain over the years.

This isn't a real financial analysis of the problem. It seems more like a political narrative which I've intentionally tried to avoid.

Once again. Whether you agree or not with how the country was put back in the black, the point stands that in just 18 years we have accimulated catastrophic debt which will take generations to pay back and will probably include higher taxes to even balance the budget let alone start making any surplus. When governments start throwing around ideas like tax on unrealised gains and inheritance taxes, you know they're in trouble. There's only so much money in peoples pockets to give.
Gov debt rates are tiny compared to private debt.
The Federal Government also borrows at a smaller rate then the state government. One of the cuts that Howard did was the aid to state governments. So you saw the debt "saved" be transfered to the state governments who paid a higher interest rate.

.. I could cut into all this. I don't think people care!

I care though about the next generation. The education cuts have hurt and we have seen a real shift in the classrooms. Kids are not paying attention. High school grads are going School -> Couch.
The smarter ones are going School -> Uni -> couch... The more active of those go and get a crappy job somewhere.... if they can.

Yes this "cut cut cut" mentality is to blame. Uni funding got cut, along with State gov funding. So the State gov's balanced their budgets by gutting TAFE. This leading to the great Hairdresser shortage of 2006, where the Immigration department bulk imported Hairdressers and short order cooks! ... Why because we gutted TAFE and did not train people up.

What people don't get: Unemployed/under-employed bums are just great at paying off debt..NOT!
