The idea that players leave the Tigers and immediately get better is such bullshit.

There are a few who everybody basically knew were going to be good, left and then continued developing as expected - Moses is the obvious one, this is where Galvin and Utoikamanu will go if they realise their potential. Tedesco, clearly, though actually he was pretty amazing before he left.

Then there's the biggest group, which is players who were more or less the same. Some of them landed in a perfect place for their specific abilities (Garner, Blore), some got talked up largely because their failings were less significant at the new shop (Brooks, Papali'i, Luciano Leilua), many are exactly the same player just in a team that doesn't lose all the time (Liddle, Klemmer, Billy Walters). But none of them suddenly became world beaters - they just look better in a team that wins every so often.

There are a few hot prospects who never kicked on for anyone. Te Maire Martin and Jake Simpkin spring to mind but I'd love it if Galvin, Utoikamanu and Da Silva ended up in here.

My favourites are the ones who people say "just need a change of scenery" and then proceed to be just as shit, or worse, than they were at the Tigers. This is where you'll find your Daine Lauries, Moses Mbyes, Joe Ofanehgaues, Zane Musgroves, Oliver Gildarts, Josh Aoloiae and John Batemen.

WTs Canberra Warriors basically owned the under 20;s comp , in the day , apart from Canberra only a hand full kicked on from there. People stamped there feet why is so n so let go. Fuzzy memory , but i went thru 5 years League magazines 2005?/2010? lower 3 grades of all those numbers Dogs had 12 of 17 players that were /progressed into 1st grade 5? years later

Penrith’s talent ID is very good.

I wonder if that extra salary cap pressure for the warriors is a chance for us to get Toby Crosby. I have never seen him play but his background and metrics (in reserve grade) discussed on the WTF podcast made him sound like the next Payne Haas. I was sold, sight unseen!

His stats look very similar to Peter Taateo esp given Crosby playing in an almost unbeated team which makes a bench prop look better.

I remember seeing him a year ago. Taped up so badly. Looking like he had fought a mack truck.

If the price was right, sure. But not at lock. I would love to take the real toil away from Terrell May and see how he would go there. I would isntead put Cam in the front row/prop rotation.

Your trying to say "tell him he is dreaming".
Signing Cameron McInnes for unders, yes I am dreaming.

But man, I woudln't sign him just because his injuries have been so So great.
The guy clearly has a stack of fight in him and I totally respect that.

But it's his last contract and he either wants to unburden some cap space from cronulla or get a premiership ring (and I don't think he will get one here). Sure, he has fight in him and I reckon he would bust up whoever he goes against.

Far out though, the guy has taken hits.
