Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ive been raving about him for a while now... seemed very nervous and young neing interviewed post game but he plays like a seasoned vet...versatile big strong
Personally, Winger is the last spot we should get in place.
Right now we have Turuva who holds his line and Skelton who has been on/off again.

The problem is a good winger can really take the heat off a poor performing team. Tukali, Koroibete even Nofo kept our scores high so we focused less on defense. I like what were building too, a team that holds their line and wins without too many flukey tries.

Holding our line, and winning through defense is where we should be headed. Build a real points difference and have some toughness. then get a good winger who will cross the line and put the points on once hte team is solid.

When were serious about a finals appearance, then I would like a boom winger.

Just wondering...if we sign a junior from another team, could that come back to bite them? Then...the biting would be even, therefore cancel everything out and you wouldn't need to write these doom and gloom type posts every time a junior goes to another club?

I never see you mention this when we do the same...I'm curious as to what your anxiety is. The Fainus are a really good example of what I'm talking about.
Of course it works both ways and there is no anxiety, but if you want a successful rugby league club to focus on keeping your very best talents in each age group.
I don’t watch every minute of every game in the lower grades, so there are some who are better placed on rating our emerging talent than what I , but from the games I have watched I believe Goodfield was our player with the most potential in the outside backs from our Wests Magpies Harold Matthews team.
Losing him is not the end of the world as nobody is irreplaceable, but it would have been better if we had kept him.

The Penrith Panthers have continued their talent recruitment drive, signing rising outside back Thomas Goodfield from the Wests Tigers pathways system as they aim to maintain their status as perennial premiership contenders.

A standout over the past two seasons in the Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup with the Western Suburbs…

Looks like we lost another star junior….
Star junior who most people hadn’t heard of until the article about him signing with the Panthers.

TD's reaction was funnier than theor jokes. Looked like he wanted to get up and cut them open. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Haha, it was great eh...
Like they were trying to have a laugh at him, when he said Gordie gave him his number.
Blank face response, "Not like that."
When those clowns were giggling.

He just seems very staunch, just like he plays.

When they started bagging him about the man purse....he genuinely looked confused as to why tbey were asking what was inside 🤣🤣🤣

No... missed it.
I hear he comes from a bit of a military family
BTW this is about Tallis Duncan.

The only issue I have is this:
Wayne Bennett is one of the best in the business. With Alex Johnson leaving, he will keep any winger that's any good.

So... Were dreaming! Unless Tallis refuses to play for unders or has some kind of alcahol problem or something.

I am working on a theory... Some coaches can pick players well, some can't.
Ivan Cleary is a great coach, but poor player picker. He picked a horrible side while here.
Shane Flanagan seems to be half way. His only mistake so far has been Klemmer. Des Haslier I put in this category too.
Craig F knew to punt K Hunt, even though he seemed like a big unit and a gun in the making. I wouldn't take any more from Cronulla..
Bellamy is a genius.

We should be very wary when a good coach lets "talent" go.

Tallis Duncan is a second rower...what's all this wing talk?

Ahh, no.

He played SG Ball for Roosters in 2020.

Richo left Souths in March 2020.

Duncan arrived at Souths for the 2021 SG Ball season.
Maybe I got it wrong but I was told by Mark Ellison who is or was the South Sydney football manager who lives next door to a friend of mine. Maybe I had one to many beers

Tallis Duncan showed plenty of potential as an emerging 13, but looks even better on an edge.
Very good player, looks like he will be genuine rep quality very soon.
With this in mind you would say Souths need him as much as anyone else, they won’t let him go unless he gets a mammoth offer from Perth Bears.
There was recent rumours Souths were looking at signing Adam Elliott, that’s one I find a bit strange considering Souths have quite a few options at 13.
Elliott has been very injury prone and is getting on in age, but offers a very direct ball running/play making 13 option.
Obviously he’s not someone you could offer much money to, but for a small price I think he would be very handy to have for 12 months to see how it works out.
