Probably simply tax based choice of addresses. How weird that players can choose where they want to live and not be bound to live where their team is based. You could have players all over the world. How do they train with the team. Or get to games.
Why are you directing this at me? It's the other guy who seems to think when he got injured is a big deal. You may notice that I had him on my short-list of worst signings we ever made.Seriously mate who really gives a flying rhino F when the injury happened and when he was signed.
He turned out to be another dud in a long list of them, let's just hope that there's not many more in the future.
Said it before and I'll say it again. Our WT, particularly the forward pack, started to lose it the night that Ben limped off Parramatta stadium. There has been a lack of authority in the middle since.Yup i thought Ben Mataulino was great, unfortunately his knee was wrecked in the end
Eight years ago mate. Time to move on.Why are you directing this at me? It's the other guy who seems to think when he got injured is a big deal. You may notice that I had him on my short-list of worst signings we ever made.
yes well said!!!Said it before and I'll say it again. Our WT, particularly the forward pack, started to lose it the night that Ben limped off Parramatta stadium. There has been a lack of authority in the middle since.
He gave our middle some real starch during his time with us and think that he only missed one match prior, despite having little to no cartilage on one knee that relied on the odd clean out.
Mate it was just a fun post laughing at our shitty signings, you're the one who wanted to relitigate the whole thing. I was just trying to bring a little joy to everyone's life.Eight years ago mate. Time to move on.
It’s strange that you are portraying yourself as just making a happy go lucky post, and because someone had a disagreement in a couple of things you said, that person was being super serious. You’ve been here a bit too long to know how this place works to resort to that silliness.Mate it was just a fun post laughing at our shitty signings, you're the one who wanted to relitigate the whole thing. He's also proven at rep level as a lock in the past when needed as wellWould be a great get origin rep who's still playing good football and in a pinch can play centre if injury happens mid game plus could teach the young guys about partying to hard in Amsterdam
Been there done Amsterdam and you really need an experience guy to have a flying time there
Ok champ, whatever you say. any seats available the next trip . i be front n center before any other position
Would McQueen be medically retired now?Wrong. He had neck surgery in August 2017, ending his season... for the Gold Coast Titans. We subsequently signed him on a three year deal. He spent the first 10 rounds of 2018 playing reserve grade for the Tigers before making the first of his 10 total first grade appearances in round 11. Absolutely shocking signing.
It was known before we signed him. If we didnt know, we shouldve.Would McQueen be medically retired now?
Look, we can say a bunch of those early signings were bad. But we signed McQueen when he did NOT have a neck injury. Ofcourse we should have somehow gotten out of the contract once the neck injury was revealed. ... Which sucks for McQueen unless he gets $$$$ compo.
I honestly thought McQueen, pre-injury would have been a decent signing. He just had a lot of Mongrel in him and helped Souths make the finals. Ofcourse he wasn't the tallest player, nor had the crazy strength that others had... So hey perhaps it was a total mistake to look into him at all.
So, what do we do if we sign a player and they get seriously injured prior to arrival?
Should we have an escape clause and leave someone to dry? Sucks for them, but if we don't then we are screwed. Perhaps we need the option to medically retire, although unsure how compensation works...
From my memory- no dispute as I could be wrongIt was known before we signed him. If we didnt know, we shouldve.
He was a great player when he was picked for Origin, no doubt his serious injury played some part in his drop pff in form
"Even before it was announced in mid-April that McQueen would be joining the Tigers on a three-year deal from 2018 the 2014 premiership winner was talking with the Titans team doctor and specialists about the need for surgery."

Sounds pretty accurateFrom my memory- no dispute as I could be wrong
He did need surgery prior to signing but was still playing at that point.
I think after signing he aggravated further in a game for the titans and had to get surgery before playing again
OMG...It was known before we signed him. If we didnt know, we shouldve.

WHAT ON EARTH WERE PEOPLE THINKING!@
I always thought it was our bad luck from an injury. Not a pre-existing condition that was well known... 10 rounds out from surgery... How on earth did Ivan, Pascoe, anyone sign off on that.
F no, too old thank God, that would be a dumb and dumber recruitment decision they would have contemplated, good riddance to them goonies.is McQueen making a comeback to tigers?
