Vicious you make some valid points, the way we finished off the year wasnt to encouraging but we were a complete different team with Bula playing. Yes hes got improvement in him but who do we get to replace him. All the points you made have merit but without Bula you add another problem with scoring points. With this club saving a couple of hundred thousand doesnt eventuate to new players. We saved a million each with Galvin and Stefano we didnt do much with replacing them.

Yes we are currently a much better team when Bula is playing and we should be as he is our 2nd most expensive player,
Not adequately replacing players that have departed has definitely been an area of concern, so I understand you and many other Wests Tigers fans would have fear of it happening again if Bula doesn’t re-sign with us,
With an estimated 900k to 1 million dollars alllocated to either retaining Bula or for a potential replacement, we would have decent ammunition to entice a decent replacement in this situation if he does leave.

I know Gus is getting old, but does he really think Bula at fullback and Galvin in the halves is winning him a Premiership?
He is not that silly and he knows there will be an opportunity to sign Kalyn Ponga, Ryan Papenhuysen, AJ Brimson or Jaxon Purdue, so I cannot see him frantically signing Bula as of November 1 when the above listed players either will be available or likely to become available.

Man there is an absolute abundance of fullbacks in the nrl , and just below . Straight off the top of my head , we could offer Paps 2 years , allowing Brooke’s and oitman time to mature . We could go to market and snatch Brimson from the titans , Purdue from the cowboys , Faalago from the storm. Thats without much thought , and consideration of what’s out there . If thr young fullback who’s playing halves at Newcastle can’t make the switch I’m sure he’ll be available as well .
Bula is a great fullback , and we should do whatever we can to keep him , but if he’s got one foot out the door , there is literally heaps of options Available , both internally and externally.
It is simply nothing like the Teddy situation where we lost him and the guy who should have replaced him in Papenhuyzen.

He will sign for unders just like Galvin and when they retire, they will own shares in pubs of course.

The reason Bula isn’t worth the 900k isn’t because he’s not a 800-900k player . 10 years ago every club in the game would have been coming for him .
The reason he’s not worth 800k is, there’s like 10 clubs who have 2 nrl standard fullbacks , and some have 3 or 4 . It’s a buyers market

Would be great off the bench for us and can fill multiple positions in the forward pack. Could potentially even start him at lock.

High motor with his line speed in defence and his tackle efficiency really sticking out. He also runs the ball strongly with a nice offload.

I’ve always admired him as an underrated player, I think this would be a really solid signing. You won’t ever question Elliot’s effort I can promise you that.

I'll probably be proven wrong but I don't rate pezet highly. Has a very good kicking game but looks very limited with the ball as not quick or strong and fairly predictable in his pass selection. Wishart was mostly picked in front of him at halfback this season and is much more threatening with the ball.

Lack of football IQ, lack of ckass, lack of speed, lack of x-factor, lack of aggression, lack of physical dominance.
Apart from that we are doing ok.
As I keep saying Bula on 700k, possibly 800k is not a problem.
I’ve noticed some people ask what the dollar figure has to do with it ?
The dollar figure is vital as Bula is no superstar and doesn’t provide enough x-factor to win us games on his own, therefore we need available cap money to be able to purchase more quality players to not have to rely on Bula regularly winning us games on his own.
Does that make sense as I feel like I’m going around in circles talking to a Filipino call centre ?

Speed: Bula's still here next year and has good pace, Taylan and Makasini aren't slow even Doueihi when he winds up isn't slow and Latu is sharp off the mark.

Aggression: Big off season for Royce and Bunty is no shrinking violet, Sam has been known to fire up and if the bird swap for Brown happens there's another one, the pack is going to be much bigger next year to fix the physical side.

IQ: another off season can provide wiser heads, if we don't have enough X factor they just have to work harder as a team to make up for it.

Plus there's still 2 spots left so something could be under the Christmas Tree.
Before you say anything about the cap no one knows what left especially if we front loaded some contracts this season.

Calm head required and keep the faith.
