Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we want to keep him so desperately I’m sure upgrading him to 1 million per season from 2026 onwards will get his signature.
It won’t help us sign any other good players and it won’t help us make the top 8, but it will keep our fans happy in retaining Bula.
regardless of your opinion of bula which we all know where you stand, are you so blind you can’t see we will have a legit spine problem if bula does leave. we had a future-proof 1, 6, and 9. all likely to be gone

You talk as if the Centre of Excellence will fall down if Bula decides to be unloyal and head elsewhere.
If you can put your hand on your heart and state you are extremely confident we can make the top 8 in 2026 with Bula in our team then it becomes a big deal on whether he stays or goes, , but if you are not overly confident we can make the top 8 in 2026 with Bula in our team, then who cares if he decides to stay or go.

Doueihi or Latu Fainu at 7 will not be our problem.
Terrell May combining with with Fonua Pole or Sione Fainu as our starting props will not be our problem.
Sanuela Fainu on our left edge will not be our problem.
Taylan May at left centre will not be our problem.
Well V without being a smart arse besides Bula what are your biggest problems.

you’ve missed my entire point. bula leaving in isolation wouldn’t be the end of the world. him leaving after galvin & tds also did, who were supposed to be our long-term spine members, doesn’t give a lot of optimism for the future of the club. our pathways in key positions are bare now

Lack of football IQ, lack of ckass, lack of speed, lack of x-factor, lack of aggression, lack of physical dominance.
Apart from that we are doing ok.
As I keep saying Bula on 700k, possibly 800k is not a problem.
I’ve noticed some people ask what the dollar figure has to do with it ?
The dollar figure is vital as Bula is no superstar and doesn’t provide enough x-factor to win us games on his own, therefore we need available cap money to be able to purchase more quality players to not have to rely on Bula regularly winning us games on his own.
Does that make sense as I feel like I’m going around in circles talking to a Filipino call centre ?
Not you RHS, just in general.

We should be learning from how the Broncos are operating.
They have developed and earmarked Coby Black as the next big thing and their future number 7.
The moment they become aware a much more seasoned and developed number 7 in Jonah Pezet becomes available they pounce.
They are not waiting to find out if the player they developed reaches his potential or not.

after tedesco walking, the club can recover IF bula does decide to leave

Vicious you make some valid points, the way we finished off the year wasnt to encouraging but we were a complete different team with Bula playing. Yes hes got improvement in him but who do we get to replace him. All the points you made have merit but without Bula you add another problem with scoring points. With this club saving a couple of hundred thousand doesnt eventuate to new players. We saved a million each with Galvin and Stefano we didnt do much with replacing them.

Nothing new here. Just the club been asked by Adam Elliott's manager whether we'd consider him.
Would be great off the bench for us and can fill multiple positions in the forward pack. Could potentially even start him at lock.

High motor with his line speed in defence and his tackle efficiency really sticking out. He also runs the ball strongly with a nice offload.

I’ve always admired him as an underrated player, I think this would be a really solid signing. You won’t ever question Elliot’s effort I can promise you that.

Go get him Richo!

Yes we are currently a much better team when Bula is playing and we should be as he is our 2nd most expensive player,
Not adequately replacing players that have departed has definitely been an area of concern, so I understand you and many other Wests Tigers fans would have fear of it happening again if Bula doesn’t re-sign with us,
With an estimated 900k to 1 million dollars alllocated to either retaining Bula or for a potential replacement, we would have decent ammunition to entice a decent replacement in this situation if he does leave.

dogs fans seem to think he’s signed sealed and delivered to them. they are cheering

can’t wait for heath mason at 1
No chance the Bulldogs will pay him 800k or higher.
I know Gus is getting old, but does he really think Bula at fullback and Galvin in the halves is winning him a Premiership?
He is not that silly and he knows there will be an opportunity to sign Kalyn Ponga, Ryan Papenhuysen, AJ Brimson or Jaxon Purdue, so I cannot see him frantically signing Bula as of November 1 when the above listed players either will be available or likely to become available.
