Good times. My mates and I used to call Buckets 3rd man because he loved playing behind the lead runner. Was a huge reason why we found so much space in a time where really only Scott Hill was doing similar.

You realise Gardiner can't recruit, right? He has what he has. Yes, he put his senior playmaker in the 7 Jersey. What else is he supposed to do?So Ben Gardiner also has no idea playing him at 7 for Samoa?
You hit the nail on the head he plays better at 7 and at 6 when he is provided more space. We didn't provide that with the pack we had and it was clear that his early time at 7 suffered through a combination of that and Galvin overplaying his hand.
So let's say that you are correct and Luai has a 6 on his back instead of 7. What does it change from what I posted? The only way he is provided more space as a 6, is if the 7 slides and plays both sides of the paddock or we have a ball playing 13 that provides width for the 6 ad 7.
Look, I get that you don't agree with AD at 13. But I haven't heard any reasoning from you apart from he played two good games at 7 last season.
I'm happy to debate the subject - but resorting to petty name calling is childish.
Galvin is very much the opposite of Luai...So Ben Gardiner also has no idea playing him at 7 for Samoa?

Thats just self fulfilling bullshit to justify shitty behaviour. Like I said , whatever story you want to tell yourself …what it screams is members have a right to show there disappointment or as you say negativity. At the end of the day we had 3 wooden spoons on the trot and considering our signings we are still in the bottom four and thats not good enough . We have spent more than a decade playing some shit football.
Google showing he's been around a few clubs.Did we cover this?
Max Lehmann![]()
Wests Tigers strengthen depth in outside backs with new signing
He scored six tries in eight NSW Cup matches in 2025.www.zerotackle.com
Seems a bit like a nothingburger signing for back depth. Outside top 30 so ... all is good.
Google showing he's been around a few clubs.
Manly, Eels, South's, East's Tigers & Bradford Bulls.
Journey man, career lower grader.- Is he worth mentioning?
Finished the Season in Sydney Shield (Playing with Brandys young bloke)
And a heap of nobodys, Meh
Rinse repeatBula is a priority signing. He is a gun in attack and is about to hit his peak, the attack improves tenfold whenever he is on the field. Losing him will set the club back and again reinforce to young players that there is no stable future in their career path at the Tigers.
Yes I get it - and I'm not hard over on him wearing 6 or 7. The point is that it is ludicrous to state that Luai can't play 7. He can given the right framework. You realise Gardiner can't recruit, right? He has what he has. Yes, he put his senior playmaker in the 7 Jersey. What else is he supposed to do?
I think there's a very slim chance that Luai ever plays 7 again for us.
Priority ?? Based on 2025 stats that would be around $100k per try ? $100K per line break ?? $115K per try assist ??? Priority would be to find a fullback with better value than those stats and someone who can kick goals as well and maybe even an alternate kicker for general play.Bula is a priority signing. Yet no one has ever heard of him beforeGoogle showing he's been around a few clubs.

Yeah - looking at the names of the blokes he’s been running around with in shield, it’s a strange one.Yet no one has ever heard of him before
Should be a gun.🙄
Looking forward for your analysis. It's the big conundrum for the off-season topic.Yes I get it - and I'm not hard over on him wearing 6 or 7. The point is that it is ludicrous to state that Luai can't play 7. He can given the right framework.
I am simply tying to follow what the club has stated in that Luai is the 7. I don't care what number he wears. Our problem with the halves that we have selected as our base going forward need a pack to provide time and space for them to work. What we had in 2025 was not up to it and, without change we are going to face a similar problem in 2026.
There are solutions that would make it work for the long term - AD to 7, in my book, isn't one of them.
I'm pulling together an analysis of our 2025 performance based on Twal at 13 to identify key deficiencies and will use that to pull together potential solution for us in 2026. Not to say this is how to do it - but as a basis for discussion on how to address the 6,7,13 issues we have.
Like who? Connor Tracey etc. Judges such as Slater, Lockyer all rate Bula as elite but hey lets get someone who can kick goals like Eion Crossen, Ian Herron.Priority ?? Those two are pretenders to Daryl Halligan’s throne.Like who? Connor Tracey etc. Judges such as Slater, Lockyer all rate Bula as elite but hey let’s get someone who can kick goals like Eion Crossen, Ian Herron.

His stats ( they're not subjective judgements like Slater etc) prove he is not value for money and at a reported $900K for any period of time for the same output would make it less value for money. Let's not mention his defensive frailities either.Like who? Connor Tracey etc. Judges such as Slater, Lockyer all rate Bula as elite but hey lets get someone who can kick goals like Eion Crossen, Ian Herron.
He's cooked - boom tish.Don't knock the Chook...
