Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You believe that if you want to, I don’t believe the board of any club comes into a players thought process during contract negotiations.
If an employer offers you an identical job for 200k extra but you are aware the company offering you the extra 200k has a bad track record at board level, is that influencing your decision ?
The TPA’s on the other hand can make a big difference and that’s where I’m led to believe Wests Tigers struggle to compete with other clubs.
That's just deflecting rubbish V, call a spade a spade, the first thing the player agents would look at is the stability of the club's owners and board and money invested before they would recommend they sign with that club.

Just looking at our past history of recruitment and retention points to that fact they have always been here through the misery even offering overs couldn't get it done.

It started to turn around with a good CEO and talented board, we will have to wait and see how this new guy performs and as for the new board stacked with the cretins well I'm predicting more pain.

You need to wake up and smell the roses mate.

RHS the majority of players don’t even know or care who the board members are.
Yes the CEO plays an important role, but I’m confident in saying players find our new CEO to be a better bloke, far more approachable and easier to deal with than our previous CEO.

You're deflecting again they're made aware of all aspects by their managers when they are looking to join a new club, they don't come in blind just because the money is good unless they are washed up looking to top up for retirement, ring a bell, the manager wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't properly advising.

If you're going to deflect again don't waste you're time.

They were all Overpaid underperforming players who weren't missed when they left
And yet, they were all attempted to be retained but weren't. Additionally, why do so many players underperform here, but excel elsewhere?
And I disagree with they weren't missed. We were very short in some of their positions and it showed on the field. I'm my opinion they were mostly very much missed.
Could we realistically pay them all what they were reportedly offered/chasing? No. But keeping them/convincing them they've got a bright a future here on fair wages is his job in retention.

You dont seem to realise the reason for this do you? The last 12 months we haven't had any fans worried or carrying on about board members just like other clubs, why? Because things have been running quietly and smoothly. Wests Tigers fans care about our board because of the constant media drama they create. A 10 year old can see that reasoning, yet you.......
There's the real issue.

There are board level issues across the NRL, same as in any work situation.

Wests Tigers don't win often, in a nationally televised form of entertainment. Media types attack the lowest hanging fruit. And as fans- we are rabid for information on who to blame.

3 years ago- this was all Pascoe's fault.

And the media told us so then too.

We don't need the media to persuade us, blind Freddy can see who caused the damage this time, you would have to be extremely thick if you couldn't.
