Met him once back when he was playing footy, in the surf at Bungan beach, good dude talked about all things footy and surfing, back in the days when you didn't have to keep your eyes peeled for Bull sharks and Great Whites.Hardwick
I’ve still got the shits.Terribly unlucky the loss to Canberra broke my heart, had the shits for a month.
me eitherI’m still not
I don’t think it was a lack of luck - they didn’t respect the footy nor the lead.Terribly unlucky the loss to Canberra broke my heart, had the shits for a month.
I was shocked at how much cheap ball the Tigers turned over - they were mostly internationals on that team and they played like Rookies.Yep, Balmain definitetly tried to play the clock down
Wtached the whole game again a few years back
Was there, I stormed out of the ground at full time only to find Ieft my motor bike helmet under my seat…had to battle my way back into the ground to retrieve my helmet against the retreating crowd. What a crap dayI’ve still got the shits.
You mentioned I presume Queenslanders, they did get one over them in a Panasonic Cup final when the Tigers beat Brisbane, cracker of a game.I don’t think it was a lack of luck - they didn’t respect the footy nor the lead.
So much low percentage footy from Balmain and the qlders just did what qlders do…
Kept Playing the game and not the clock.
You hear the old Tigers fellas (outside Pearce maybe) and they have plenty of excuses.
None of them say we just thought we had to turn up.
Game was lost before they got on the park.
I watched the game at a mates place in Queanbeyan. I was the only Balmain supporter there. Afterwards I had to walk home past the Queanbeyan Leagues club, (then home of the Raiders), they were going off. Great night. Was there, I stormed out of the ground at full time only to find Ieft my motor bike helmet under my seat…had to battle my way back into the ground to retrieve my helmet against the retreating crowd. the harrigan penalty against McGuire changed the momentum of the gameI was shocked at how much cheap ball the Tigers turned over - they were mostly internationals on that team and they played like Rookies.
Been a while since I saw it again, but I think Pearce got tackled and gave a Hail Mary or just lost it cold and Raiders were off with the ball. A game is a game, but they were too flippant with possession and it was one of them days where not much stuck for em.
Raiders just kept chipping away, playing their game off the back foot until it opened up for them, when it did they made it count.
2SM I think.Ive got a vague memory 2GB was a sleeve sponsor at Western Suburbs back in the 90s
Wayne Pearce didn't have a good game in the 89 GFI was shocked at how much cheap ball the Tigers turned over - they were mostly internationals on that team and they played like Rookies.

Dropped the ball with a big overlap with a high chance of scoring.Wayne Pearce didn't have a good game in the 89 GF
Had at least two handling errors .....both in attacking positionsDropped the ball with a big overlap with a high chance of scoring.
