Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So a few things about some actual Wests players.
Luke Jack has put on about 7kg's over the off season and he's a 100% better player for it. He was getting dominated last year. Charlie Murray also seems bigger . Well done to our conditioning team.

We now have an abundance of backrowers who can fill in and do a job for the team when you add Saukuru, Goginet, Tapau-Moors, Geyer and Roberts to our starters. It's a huge improvement from the dark days of starting Seyfarth and Sukkar.

Makasini has to start. He's physically ready and mentally very confident. He's already the best centre at the club.

Finally Attard is a star in the making. Before offering Bula silly money they need to keep in mind that Attard is an Nrl starter in 2027.
Good post. If we can re-sign Bula, the contract is in place and WTs is in a strong position. If other clubs come calling, we are in a position to determine what occurs. Logan Brookes also appears to be a really good footballer.

But the manager works at the behest of the player. If Lomax isn't instructing him to engage with 360 and Storm then he wouldn't be. The buck stops with Lomax not his manager.
It’s a bit interesting though that the only players who were spoken about defecting have the same manager. Both are now without a club . I think Papenhuyzen was just looking for a t20 like payday where he could take it easy on his body . There’s been a huge breakdown here . Yes it’s the players decision ultimately , but you can only make a decision on the advice you’re given / information you have . Something has gone majorly wrong here .
Clinton Schifcoske has done untold damage to his reputation . Whether it’s fair or not .

Kit was very good last night, but Kit was very good in a trial last year and then wasn't given an opportunity after that.
I think he's a much better option than Bunty on the bench.
Although Kit did play very well in last seasons trial and had a decent season playing NSW Cup, he was not often as sharp and fast as you would like him to be for a middle forward short in stature.
The most pleasing part of his game last night was his noticeably increased energy levels and his intent to hit top speed very quickly with ball in hand.
When he does this he is a weapon who can’t be left out of our NRL top 17.
My only criticism of Kit is he was still sitting back waiting for our opponents when defending in the first 20mins, we need him getting iup in their face and imposing himself defensively like we know he can.
Overall he should take a huge amount of confidence out of that game and I am very happy for him as you will not find a better human being than Kit.

This is a good post.

I noticed Will Craig and Tavana look bigger also.
And Attard looks much bigger than his photo suggested.

Kitt is an absolute unit too.
He will run through some players this year.

His manager would not have pursued this unless there was interest from other clubs. The best outcome is a court ruling which upholds the Eel's contractual position. The Storm having to surrender a player the Eels' want for Lomax's signing is best for the NRL.

That’s not the best position impacting another player who doesn’t want to leave the Storm.

Have zero issues making the Eels have to find a spot and cash to keep him for multiple years. Would have larger impacts to them.

Tarnished reputation and a fib teller ,from way back when

I recall games last year ( at least 1 maybe 2 ) where Kit remained on the bench all game and didn’t get on the field … Benji didn’t seem to have a lot of confidence in him…

It was a nice try he scored against back ups and juniors yesterday …think I would still prefer Bunty over him… not sure either are in the best team at this stage …

Attard looks the goods, but is he a better fullback than Logan Brookes ?
I think Attard is older and will get first shot.

Maybe better to ask what other clubs are interested in them and when those team put a contract in front of them, would they give their right nut to still try to sign with us?

That is the reason PVL is on the side of Melbourne Storm.
Why should a player be forced to go to another code just because the club he was contracted to is being petty and doesn’t want him playing rugby league at all ?
Both low clubs the Eels and Bulldogs.
I have a different opinion,
Lomax signed a contract with Parramatta to play NRL with them for a certain amount of years ,
Lomax plays 1 year and then asks Parramatta for a release from the remainder of his contract to play Rugby union.
Parramatta agree to release him (because he doesn’t want to play NRL) with the provision that he can’t not sign with any other NRL team for the remaining time of the original contract. (Another 3 years)
LOMAX AGREED and signed the release form.
Case closed

I’m sure parramatta will agree to let Lomax play in the NRL again if they are paid enough to compensate for releasing a State of Origin player.
I wish our club had the same mentality when 2 of our players asked for early releases last year.

I recall a game where it was pivotal in the match, a kit took a run off off the back fence and dropped the ball in the tackle . He then missed the tackle that lead to the try . And was hooked 5 minutes later. .
I don’t think he was fit enough nor ready mentally last year .

I was gonna bring it up , but I honestly couldn’t remember the details around it. I know he lied about taking roids , but I can’t remember if it was worse than that .

I think CS got done when others slipped through the system.

"Schifcofske made his first grade debut for the now defunct South Queensland side in Round 5 1996 against the North Sydney Bears at North Sydney Oval.
However his rookie season was marred by a five match suspension after testing positive for a banned testosterone-based supplement."

They used the Lomax contract money to sign Jonah Pezet who would have stayed with Melbourne until linking up with the Broncos in 2027 unless the Eels come in with an offer of much more than what he was being paid by the Storm.
Melbourne Storm done the honourable thing and released him to allow him to earn more money and play regular NRL, they didn’t have to release him.
The Eels are grubs and I hope they run last, a 3 way dead heat for the Wooden Spoon between them, the Bulldogs and the Roosters.

Storm also released Ryles early to start coaching at the Eels as well.

Parramatta are grubs
they held Stef and played him 5 minutes one game prior to coming over to tigers.

If Parramatta want Lomaz they shoukd have to take him back (oh wait they have spent the cash on pezet etc)
They can't stop him from playing at Storm if they themselves are not going to pay him or take him back (or cant fit him in).
That seems to be a restriction of trade
