Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wrong yet again. Sukkar has played some front row in reps due to poor judgement and him being the biggest. Never played prop at club level. He has always been a backorwer or centre. Obviously his pace hasn't progressed to stay a centre.
I don't really care if he played centre when he was 13. At Balmain he played a combination of prop and second row. A bit of lock maybe.

Mate what do you know 🤣 he hasn’t played any prop other than a year in cup

He’s been a second rower and lock for most of his career

Instead of talking about a kid who has done more this morning than you have done your whole life, why don’t you celebrate that we have a wealthy and fruitful junior system promoting our cubs
We have probably the worst junior system of any club in the NRL.

Wests may not win a game in any grade. Balmain at least try but will probably fall short.

I saw Sukkar play prop many times in junior reps. A goal kicking prop. Not many of those around.

Instead of arguing with him like a blind idiot - go to NSWRL and look it up for yourself.

Then you can also know what he knows…

We've lost Galvin and Da Silva but the development system has identified, recruited or produced very good prospects who will potentially replace them. Luke Laulilii is leaving and after watching the trial I can see why the club didn't match the offer. We have a young player who played in the trial game who consistently breaks tackles, is strong, very quick and looks as though he can cover fullback, wing, centre and 5/8. In short we seem to be getting many recruitent/retention decisions right which is excellent.

Or what? Just because fans hate waiting?

Yeah lets chuck an impatient tantrum and never play finals.

Attard isn’t close to NRL level and AD at fullback is long past. Turuva is the next up option.
Contract has been going on since November , 4 year deal offered and knocked back , new offer done for 2 years as per bulla manager request and still nothing , please explain what we are waiting on or should I say what bulla is waiting on , people treat him like he is a top 3 fullback , he’s just in the top 10 , we have money to front load other contracts so it’s not cash , TPA any would have been sorted to complete the deal / offer , not many jobs where company will wait 4 months for an answer

I think sentiment is clouding your judgement. He's like a Temu Twal. Tries hard, good bloke but gets dominated in attack and defence. We have Twal already secured, there's some value in a quiet worker. We don't have space for another one.

He wouldn't make any other team's top 30 at this stage. We signed Geyer and Roberts so we wouldn't need to rely on him. He's not terrible, but he's not a first grader. See how he goes in Cup. Hopefully he can give time to youngsters line Godinet who could but shouldn't be rushed into Cup anytime in the next few months.

You keep sating he gets dominated in attack. Saying it over and over again doesn't make it true. I've asked you to give an example of it and you cant

. Also, as I've hinted at before, Bird is gone. Not sure why they haven't announced it yet. He thinks the English club may be waiting for us to kick in more or its a visa thing. Regardless, there's no waiting on his release for cap relief as we are in a good spot and even able to frontload some of the bigger contracts

I saw Bird at the Season launch … not sure when that was but looked recent … obviously still training with the team …, hope he doesn’t get injured

I reckon he's lucky to be in the top 10 tbh.

Teddy
Walsh
Edwards
Mitchell
Drinkwater
Turbo
Gutho
Hammer
Ponga
Kini

There's ten who I think are better...
I also think Kennedy is better, and trai Fuller and Iongi are at least on par if not better. I'm actually trying to find someone worse than him. Jye Gray maybe. Connor Tracey maybe

He has until May to sign the deal …. Lot of people around here get precious about what contracts stipulate … so he can use the all that time if he chooses

I’m pretty sure Jack Bird has not been training with the team, he’s sitting in the departure lounge with a flight delay for some reason.

I don't think the fullback position is the embarrassment of riches it once was.

Turbo and Gutho are past it, Ponga's coming off a lisfranc, Edwards isn't getting any younger, Drinkwater can't catch a cold, Papenhuyzen's gone and Latrell's been moved to centre.

Walsh is the best in the league and Teddy sits beneath him, that man is ageless. the rest all have an assortment of elite attributes, including Bula, but don't have the all-round game that those two do.

Former NRL winger Matt Utai is fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot twice in an attack near Greenacre on Tuesday morning. Utai was shot in his stomach and in his leg and is currently in critical condition.

An SUV was found later set ablaze, with police investigating the crime scene and the torched car.

Emergency services were called at 6:00am to rush to Greenacre, with reports of a shooting, where Utai was then transported to the hospital.

I wonder what Matty has got himself into after footy .. ??

either Balmain boys burner or one of his extra extra special fans

What he knows is wrong, so instead blindly following how about you grow a pair and think for yourself
When you’ve been here longer than a season you might get the lay of the land a bit better.

Sukkar was a prop for all of his season in Ball - kicked goals also.

What he said was right, so instead of running your lips with reckless abandon - make sure you can back it up.

“In the departure lounge “ but he attended the season launch ?
Do you see the look on his face, he looked real excited to be there.
I’m not sure what the hold uk is, but it’s 💯 certain he is not part of Benji’s plans moving forward and I’m assuming Jack Bird himself can’t wait to get the the UK so he can be part of a team.
You would hope his departure is confirmed within the next couple of weeks for the good of all involved.

I don’t do body language interpretations…

I genuinely am hoping he is not training with the team and that you have heard that from a genuine source or observed it yourself and not a gut feeling…your use of the term “I’m pretty sure “ doesn’t fill me with confidence…

Training or not , He still continues to get paid by the Wests Tigers in the meantime …by the end of Feb he has already been paid a third of his contract for 2026
