Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This news article says that the Tigers agreed to pay “part of his freight “ to enable the Souths extension announced in Sept 25 for years 26 and 27, along with Bud taking a $100k paycut …

Given the Tigers were motivated sellers to move on ,,,it was probably $250k each from Souths and the Tigers given the original deal was $600k per year and he took a $100k haircut

100% Tom and being a local kid and knowing his old man i may be a little biased but i was dirty that we also paid Maddens wage on top to fill the same position.

But then how do you convince Barnett that it's a great proposition to come here when his family are north of Newcastle.
Yeah very confusing situation considering he wants to come home to be near family members in Newcastle due to his circumstances yet there talking abt Broncos being a strong chance. I think Newcastle will be where he goes.

Souths wanted him for longer than the initial one season agreement (2025) where the tigers contributed to his salary.

As part of this transfer, he was released from the remainder of his contract with Wests Tigers to sign a new contract with Souths.

I posted a link to the South Sydney website in a previous reply to this.

At least now I know who is Wong...
He was released after we settled to pay $250k.

It was humour mate but Nofo would be quick to back you up, he was always pointing the finger at the inside defenders.
It's sad how that all ended. He seemed very bitter about something and it looked like he couldn't get over it mentally.

He had some great moments but no one will remember that now. Not sticking the boot in, because there was a big chunk of his time with us where he was all in, but a big shame how it ended.

Was looking at a game just recently early in his career against south's, last year Mitch Moses with us in the early rounds, the guy was strong and quick and a good winger for years.

I still recall one of Nofo's high flying tries that was all over the news quite a few years ago now.

To me that was the start of the era of wingers performing high flying acrobatics getting the ball down over the line.

Rule changes regarding the corner post really changed things to the point where we now regularly marvel at the acrobatic skills that some of these guys possess.

If nothing else Nofo invented the acrobatic airborne impossible try that now is in every wingers arsenal. Fatty nearly wet himself calling it. Okay for what ever reason his form fell off the cliff, but he won us plenty of games, lost us a few coming off this wing also.

what he did to the club while captain trying to get tedesco, moses, woods over th dogs was ordinary. Hasler was keen on tedesco and woods but no interest in Moses.
That season before he left woods was one of the best props goubg around in the comp, his form fell off a cliff at the dogs and never recovered.

5 clubs and and a bad human
