Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Cowboys would obviously want to keep Purdue at all costs, but I don’t think they are coming to the party with the contract money he is looking for.
My best mate lives in Mackay, knows the family and says it sounds like he is open to going anywhere for the right money.
I’ve said this many times before and it’s absolutely no disrespect to Jahream, but any club looking for a fullback and having the choice of spending 1 million dollars per season on either Purdue or Jahream, everyone’s first choice would be Purdue.
The Bulldogs, Sharks and Dragons are all on the lookout for a fullback, they will all offer Purdue 1 million per season to play fullback before they consider offering that money to Jahream.
That is not being mean or disrespectful, it’s just reality and I have been preaching about this for the past 12months.
Well, it sounds like you just bumped up the offers to 1.1 mil, not wanting to pay that money so the club should activate the option and prepare one of the promising young fullbacks for the spot.

May the best junior win.

Except the dogs & dragons have been linked to Bula not Purdue

A bloke that’s never played fullback at senior level is ‘everyone’s choice’
Any left in the bowl man?

Even his coaches seem to prefer having him on the halves.
Maybe it’s not them…

Well from the reports here he has had options to sign but hasn't so it's fair to look for alternatives I guess
What will be will be with Bula but IMO no announcement yet isn't a concern. It could well be held up at the club's end - perhaps the club is holding off for an announcement early next week in the lead up to our opening round match at Leichhardt. So many possibilities!

Anything is possible…but I doubt the deal has been done and they are holding off on an announcement … Moses would leak it anyway, also their first game next week needs little introduction in my book …we are all keen to see this team play, and I’m still dirty on another Bye Round 1

Yeah most likely TS.

It's so hard to put a value on him atm because he has deficiencies in his game especially 1-on-1 in defence and on the try line, maybe it's a hangover mentally from his shoulder surgery 12 or so months ago.

If he wants the first 2 months of the season to increase his value and he has the confidence to do that, well good luck to him. Hopefully we are 8 wins 0 losses, he's leading the Dally M and we say ok here's your $1M/year for 3 years.

You must watch games with the sound off ?
Plenty of commentators not only state how good they think he is, but also state he looks ideally placed at fullback.

That’s a Moses tactic to increase his value for other clubs, not for us

Despite not playing there at all the last 2 years?

The shite you dibble on with here convinced most of us you don’t watch them at all.

Maybe you should have a debate with the ex players connentating on Fox Sports as it sounds like you know better than they do.
And don’t forget to turn the sound up when you are watching games, you might learn something.

Latest info on Terrell May ... slight injury concern & Tigers keen to meet re contract extension

Terrell May has undergone treatment in hospital for a staph infection in his knee but the Wests Tigers insist he is certain to play against North Queensland when the club opens its season next week.

This masthead understands that May was placed on a drip earlier this week but has made a rapid recovery, easing any concerns over his availability to face the Cowboys in round two – they have the bye in round one.

That news will come as a relief to coach Benji Marshall given May was one of the Tigers’ best performers last season, winning the club’s player of the year award and pushing for State of Origin recognition.

The Tigers are coming off a year of significant improvement, and May played a huge role in their climb up the ladder after his move from the Sydney Roosters.

His form was so good that the club opened preliminary talks over a contract extension when former chief executive Shane Richardson was in charge.

It is understood those talks have since gone cold, although it is believed the Tigers still want to meet with May and his manager David Rawlings to finalise a long-term deal and ensure he remains at the club.

I imagine a long term deal would also mean his brother Taylan is extended also and perhaps Tyrone even joins.

Should I ask them if he’s worth more than a million dollars with no experience in the position for you while I’m going?

Well from the reports here he has had options to sign but hasn't so it's fair to look for alternatives I guess
We hold the cards for 2027 because we can activate the club option, so there really is no rush. But you are right there's no harm planning for 2028 and beyond. It would just be nice to have stability AND be a competitive team.

Oh ffs we need him vs the cows!!

The Eels are open to striking a player swap deal for Lomax with rival clubs but nine rival clubs contacted by this masthead said they currently had no interest. Manly, Cronulla, St George Illawarra, Wests Tigers, Penrith, South Sydney, the Bulldogs, Brisbane Broncos and Canberra had no appetite.

If Masi moves into the centres eventually Lomax outside of him would be pretty neat. Plus he goal kicks
For unders obviously because of risk
